Player Name & Pronouns: Gee (they/them) Preferred Communication:miscreates or sculpts#6553 both fine!
Character Name & Journal: Dr. Stephen Strange (rehandle) Guild Affiliation: The Guardian Alliance for the sake of not getting cut off but he's not going to be pleased about it
Plot/CR Hooks: If you have magic characters, or characters who are familiar with time shenanigans or multiversal hijinks, he's most likely going to be interested in finding out more! Likewise he has a lot of experience/knowledge on all of those themes and will (probably...) be willing to help out as needed. atm I plan for him to settle in Sunset Falls and maybe fall into the role of a Spooky Issues consultant so anything supernatural is 👌
He's not going to be assuming a secret ID to begin with, so he'll be easy enough to find and get in contact with regardless of which guild anyone does or doesn't go for.
Lastly, alongside his regular power set the confluence has given him magic nullification as a secondary power, which for the time being will be kicking in unbeknownst to him whenever I need to nerf him for the good of the narrative. If you want your magic-wielding character to be caught up in one of his unintentional magic deadzone episodes that's an option!
Character Motivations:
- to expand his knowledge base. he'll want to know about other people and their powers, other worlds, different forms of magic, etc. tell him things, maybe one day he'll include you in a tome for the library back home - to be busy. If somebody comes to him for help and it's a slow day, he's probably going to help, if only to avoid running out of things to do. - to help solve the getting home problem.
Potential Roles:
Master sorcerer Stephen's a powerful sorcerer with a head for strategy and innovation that underscores his magical proficiency. if you've got a magical problem that needs fixing, question that needs answering or enemy that needs thwarting, he's good to have on side. can also be fitted with the plot device/deus ex machina expansion pack.
M.D, Ph.D the man is an actual doctor, so you better believe he's not going to let you get away with saying you're fine if you're not. he's also a former neurosurgeon and neuroscientific researcher, so. nerd alert.
Diplomat... ? for better or worse, he's got plenty of experience putting on a smile and keeping threats veiled. if a situation provides an opportunity for conversation before conflict, he'll take it, and he at least won't be the absolute worst choice. he also knows how to present himself in rich people circles, having once been rich people.
This is why I never had kids is he good with kids? no. does he accidentally get attached to them and end up trying his best to help them and not be a useless influence? less no. may take a while to warm up, but a potential mentor. just do as he says and not as he does...
Old and tired part of the middle-aged, seen and done too much, died a few too many times crowd. will likely benefit from hanging out with some people his own age or who have had similarly fraught experiences so they can continue to not talk about it in questionably decent company.
Magic carpet the Cloak of Levitation will be with him more often than it's not, which means a fabric friend to vibe with! or not vibe with if it doesn't like you.
