Hello Heroes!

⚔︎ We are lowering the amount of duplicate characters allowed in game to three. This has been reflected in the rules.

⚔︎ We'll be making a few changes to the way we post information in Metaheroes! Some of these changes are detailed below; keep an eye out for further updates!

⚔︎ Instead of city prompts within our State of the Game post, we will be putting up a log on the the first of the month. This log will contain a New Arrivals portion as well as general city prompts for characters to respond to.

⚔︎ The March Test Drive Meme will go up on March 4th.

So feel free to share your ideas with us at PLAYER PLOTS. No plot is too big or too small! If you want to follow up on an event, investigate the setting or interact with a NPC, you can also hit up SETTING ENGAGEMENT and NPC ENGAGEMENT respectively.

The bolded parts of this post are meant to highlight areas that players can interact with and affect.

⚔︎ This game has an unofficial DISCORD SERVER! As a reminder, the moderators will not be monitoring the server's contents. However, players who have issues in the server are still welcome to bring their concerns to us at MOD CONTACT, just as they would with Plurk.

Players unsure whether this affects their characters can check on the GUILDS page. As characters are removed from the Diadem Hotel, players should comment to the HOUSING page with updates on where they are staying. The deadline for January arrivals is March 27.

⚔︎ JANUARY ARRIVALS LOSE THEIR FREE RIDE! When characters first arrived, the guilds promised to help them get their footing. Per notices sent to each occupied room, characters have until MARCH 27TH before their stay at the Diadem Hotel comes to an end. Characters who commit to a guild may take advantage of the associated housing subsidy or may use their own personal income to secure private housing.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: fabian is one of a group of knights who have been cursed to reincarnate until they defeat the evil that they've been chasing over many centuries. 'the evil' also happens to be a guy who used to be their friend but betrayed them. he is also here. it's very awkward! aside from All That, fabian is insular and sad and weird with suitably sad powers (necrokinesis) to match so you're all lucky he's not here by himself because he would probably just post up at a bar and stay there forever, and right now he doesn't actually have anything he wants to do per se. what i want for him, though, is for him to branch out and make some friends beyond the small circle of fellow knights he came with, and also to work on being more accepting of his powers, with which he has some Serious Issues reflecting his garbage self-esteem.
Plot/CR Hooks: fabian is capable of being a pretty miserable guy in new situations and will need some serious prompting to get him out of his ruts, but that being said he's not the kind of person who would let injustice slide, so i would love to throw him in the deep end of having to help someone out of a bad situation despite his dramatic misery getting in his way!

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Emmet is one a few folk showing up from the same universe, in which a group of knights are stuck in a cycle of reincarnation as they pursue a former ally turned enemy to prevent him from doing evil shit. It's been going on a long time & Emmet carries guilt because he had a part in starting the cycle (to save the world!!) and is just a tired boy who has dreams of the future, past and present. Of this and other universes. It adds to the headache. He's going to keep to himself as much as he can out of habit but I'd like for him to make some friends outside of his typical reincarnating social circle.
Plot/CR Hooks: Emmet tries to stay reserved and on the sidelines but he often is easily dragged into things, be it for his friends' benefit or perhaps the benefit of innocent strangers he wants to protect. He laments making new friendships because he knows those outside of his knight bffs won't reincarnate and thus their lives are short and often bittersweet - and yet he keeps ending up involved. Which sucks!!! So add to that strain by being his new friends.

Various potential scenarios:
- Like w/ Fabian, if you know his buddies!! sylvie resurveil, willia infirmiere or fabian stale (or his enemies!!! lark harries) you are a step closer to knowing Em too
- Working with Emmet's dreaming to cross paths, need warnings, know something he shouldn't, etc.
- He's not invincible, so idk he should get shot or smthn so people can stitch him up I'm already this open to stuff ok

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: she would like to go home, but alas. :) anyway, willa is one of those knights hanging around who needs to make friends with literally anyone other than the dozen pals she has hung out with for centuries! she is naturally inclined to being helpful both because of her power (it's healing!) and her original life preparing her for being a caregiver, add in a few lifetimes of fighting evil (aka her former friend) and willa is suited to being heroic but she's tired, fam. i would like her to make new friends and push herself probably too far in healing because i like pain and maybe probably befriend some villains by accident

Plot/CR Hooks: willa is functionally immortal in that she can die, so tragic, but she's been reincarnated too many times at this point so she has lived many lives and knows a lot of stuff, most of which is useless, no one uses a bow or weaves massive tapestries in 2019 like come on, but she's happy to learn more things so if anyone has something they want their character to teach/pass on, willa could be your girl

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Short-term goals: suss out who he knows in game and who knows him. Figure out what the fuck is going on with this side of the multiverse, take over a gang, whatever else sounds like it'd be entertaining and give him an edge.

On an OOC level: fun drama and cause chaos bc clearly that's what jason todd does best.

Plot/CR Hooks: he'll likely settle into central city, spending time figuring out those shady underground crime rings. jason is a crau from the same game as damian batricide and stephen strange rehandle(+some asshole named tony) so he'll be trying to catch up on what he's missed since they arrived, too.

Plot/CR Hooks: if he sees a situation that he thinks he can lend a hand to help resolving--he'll step right into it. as long as it isn't something he'll think will resolve on it's own. so if anyone needs a negotiator/someone to step in the middle of a bitchfight before it goes too far, he's down to be a fun ruiner

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: lila wants freedom! she's a thief and a pirate and her boyfriend is not here and he is 99% of her impulse control (and he is bad at it) so she will want to go her own way, but she also has her own moral code and she doesn't take well to people targeting kids or the poor because she believes in punching up so she will probably be happy to start shit with any one who punches down, also she will steal your stuff byeeeee

Character Name & Journal: Accelerator, levelshift
Guild Affiliation: Unaligned, though he'll likely end up joining the Alliance or (more likely) the Society to get an upgrade to his choker.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Accel started the series as an overpowered villain, having killed over 10 000 clones of a 14 year old girl as part of a science experiment to basically become god. He started his redemption arc after getting some common sense knocked into him and later suffering a traumatic brain injury in order to save the remaining clones. He deeply, deeply hates himself and thinks his only recourse is doing increasingly terrible things to protect them so they can have lives free of suffering and pain.

His biggest priority is to get out of here ASAP, though obviously that won't be possible! In particular he'll want to know more about the Confluence, the forces that make it up, and how it works. He is more than willing to commit crimes to do this, including but not limited to property damage, breaking and entering, and interrogation via torture. I'd love for him to get involved in some villainy to start out with in general, since that's where his mindset currently is and he can and will maim and kill people he thinks deserve it (like other villains).

Long term, he is in dire need of the chance to have healthy experiences. He'd have to be dragged kicking and screaming into them (if he had the choice he'd do nothing but try to go home and take 12 hour long depression naps) but he sorely needs to learn it's okay for him to live like a normal person.
Plot/CR Hooks: 
→Fellow teens and kids: He could use some, especially people who will put up with his griping and extroverts to drag him places and help him acquire some actual hobbies. He also has a big soft spot for kids and will take a bullet for them!
→Clones and artificial beings: He's got very strong feelings about clones and artificial lifeforms after having willingly killed so many of the former. Clones are illegal in Toaruverse so seeing them and clone-adjacent beings being public knowledge would blow his mind.
→Adults: For all he's capable of, Accelerator is still a fifteen year old idiot who needs actual adults in his life. Villains/ex-villains/morally grey adults are a bonus.
→Magic types: I've got an opt in for Accelerator's magic sensing ability! When he learns magic is a real thing he's going to be interested in it, probably to hilarious ends since espers are very much not compatible with it, but he isn't aware of this yet.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: hihi i'm back with tony! he's getting a soft reboot, so he won't have any meta memories. his experience in the aeries has also been suppressed, which means he will be in a much better spot than the first time i brought him in. so with that said! tony is likely to focus his attention on connecting with other ml folks and acclimating to this brand new world.

he won't have any interest in taking back his former business or recollecting whatever possessions he had here, so no need to worry about that. i don't have a solid overarching goal for him yet, but i'm sure i'll figure it out along the way.

Plot/CR Hooks: he is going to be moving in with his bff stephen, but he also has a routine of an early morning/late night run. he can also be found in coffee shops, doughnut shops or diners because... he has missed all of these things.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Kaz was very invested in getting powers immediately prior to coming to Metaheroes, so he’s going to be thrilled about that, which will soften the pain of being ripped from his home and loved ones. I’m mostly interested in giving him a chance to develop relationships with new people, explore his new powers, and also maybe process some of the messed-up things that happened in his canon now that he’s not in a Disney-approved setting. Also I wanna get him a job in a medical clinic or something so he can continue being a doctor.
Plot/CR Hooks: EVERY DAY'S AN ADVENTURE - I mean, Kaz is a heroic-ish kid and a sixteen-year-old doctor (practicing without a license and he definitely did not go to med school lol) who specializes in treating superheroes in his canon. He's going to be out and about meeting cool new people - he's kind of a superhero groupie so it's not going to be hard to get his attention - and taking advantage of his newfound independence to, uh, probably do a very bad job of taking care of himself, actually.
