I don't know how much DnD lore you know (and tbh I'm new to it too) so stop me if you've heard this before, but a defining trait of kobold culture is fanatical dragon worship. They have a dragon (Kurtulmak) as their patron deity, are distantly related to dragons, consider it a great honor to serve under a dragon as minions (no matter the cost to themselves), etc.
Now, Avi here is a weird rare kobold who's been trying to unpack everything his upbringing instilled in him, including the above dragon worship, so he wouldn't be doe-eyed upon encountering Aurican so much as conflicted, but I do think there's potential there for some really interesting CR! He'd be more willing to help Aurican from the jump than he would a random human, and would be all about that "cultivate a society" stuff.
