LITTLE LOVE, KANSAS —
This month appears to be a little different. Though all the signs of a confluence appear there is no sign of any new arrivals. The gathering waits with baited breath and then finds nothing of interest occurs. Lightning strikes a potato field and that appears to be that.
People in town begin to go missing the next day. Both the new arrivals and the missing people have been planted deep under the field by the confluence's newest creation: giant, sapient potatoes of surprising strength. These potatoes seem to function as a hive-mind. Some arrivals may have been planted too deeply and may have spent the last night in an underground cave system, unable to break through the cave due to the potato's roots. Characters can fall into this cave system during combat. The water down here is glowing and, if drank, will cause you to become temporarily bio-luminescent and empathic to plants. Down there they will be able to locate the source of these monsters.
You will need to fight or tame these potato monsters in order to get the town back to normal.

LODGINGS —
Once the Guardian Alliance arrives on the scene in Excelsior and controls the situation, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!
Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.
Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

BUD THE SPUD —
Finally, in the aftermath of all of this, Little Love will require some ongoing assistance with pruning its new monsterous plant population. The older of these beasts seem amenable to being taken in and given a home. The younger ones keep trying to kidnap and plant people. The town seems surprisingly okay with this new breed of potato and some comment that it's the tenderest potato they've ever eaten.
GETTING TO KNOW YOU —
Please use the form below to introduce yourself and start plotting:
Spock | Star Trek (Discovery era)
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Spock
Guild Affiliation: Spock will want to learn about the world here before committing himself completely, but his morals line up very well with the Guardian Alliance.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Spock would very much like to find a place where he belongs, having spent most of his life feeling torn between his parents' two cultures and fitting in in neither. He does not allow himself to admit that he wants these things, but he has admitted how painful it is to hide so much of himself all the time once or twice. Given a new environment, Spock will immediately be looking to understand the world around him and find a place where he can at least do good by his own moral standards. Having just been given heartfelt advice to reach out to people instead of further isolating himself, he will also give it his best fumbling attempt to make connections with other people. Longterm, I would like him to succeed in making connections and finding a place, but for him to have to work for it all.
Plot/CR Hooks: Spock believes very strongly in helping people and working for the betterment of the many over the few. He also really loves science and any opportunity to combine these will make him about as happy as a Vulcan will allow themselves to be. He will easily offer scientific assistance to any heroes who might need support and though he does not have his Starfleet or Vulcan technology, he does have an eidetic memory and has a wealth of scientific knowledge within his own mind. He is not particularly tactful or kind in his approach to people, but he is also not intentionally cruel (most of the time) and can be trusted to be honest, even if he is also likely to sometimes be withholding. Though he is very confident in himself and his skills and knowledge, he is a little brother who has just lost his big sister and if given an opportunity to fill a little brother role, he might be inclined to lean into it if someone were to remind him of Michael. He is also very early in his long life and long career (this is pre-The Original Series by a few years) and not as likely to take command of a situation unless he sees a vacuum of leadership. He's not used to not having orders at this point.
tldr: Does your character need a salty space elf science nerd sidekick who will talk back?

I know nothing of Discovery but so much love for Spock in all forms. Cass would find him so weird and yet amazing
