Dylan Brock | Venom / Marvel (Earth-616)

Player Name & Pronouns: Tsa, she/her
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] thepreciousthing & Tsa#8398 (Disco)

Character Name & Journal: Dylan Brock ([personal profile] codicies).
  • Yes, "Brock" as in Eddie Brock. Everyone congratulate Eddie and Venom on becoming parents!!

Guild Affiliation: He'll probably join the Guardian Alliance eventually, but he'll be pretty hesitant for a while. He'll be eyeing the offer like "What's the catch?"

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:

  • Figure out if he should even tell Eddie who he is - I keep saying Dylan is Eddie's son, but technically he's the son of Earth-616 Eddie Brock, not Sony Eddie Brock. He's going to struggle with that reveal for a bit. Is it fair to dump the responsibility of a kid onto someone who... technically isn't responsible for you and doesn't need to be? He's probably going to start reaching out for advice on that.

  • Find some Super Teens to befriend - Back home, Dylan was struggling hard with coming home from the war against Knull and trying to relate to his peers again. He needs some super-friends his age he can relate to! Friends who understand what he's dealing with. Especially half-human friends so he doesn't feel like such an outsider!

  • Figure out his powers - By his canon point, Dylan's had his inborn powers taken away thanks, dad and I'm giving him a whole NEW set that is more in line with his alien heritage. Dylan's a human-symbiote hybrid, so he's now got abilities that echo Venom's more! He won't be taking on the Venom mantle here, and will try to invent himself as a new hero & figure out who he is.
    • BONUS: I wanna get this boy some good and bad influences, if I can swing it. Dylan's always admired the Edgy Anti-Hero archetype more than the Paragons, but he's so inexperienced and has no idea where, exactly, the line between "anti-hero" and "villain" actually sits. He certainly thinks he does, though. He also has no idea what the actual day-to-day superhero grind is like, or what kind of toll it might take on him emotionally. Especially when he's more into anti-hero aesthetic, and hasn't really given any thought to the philosophy and morality.

Ultimately, he wants to be a good guy and protect the innocent the way his dad does, but like, what does "good" even mean, man? Having different friends & mentors pulling him in different moral & ethical directions would be a lot of fun to explore.

Plot/CR Hooks:

  • Dylan has met a LOT of heroes from Earth-616 - Anyone whose canon point is up to the King in Black arc from 2021 and was there for the main battle against Knull probably at least recognizes who Dylan is. He didn't get particularly close to many of the heroes, and I'm certainly not expecting anyone to come flocking to him in recognition, but if your character ever wondered "Hey, what happened to that kid? Eddie Brock's son? What was his name, Danny or something?" Well, here he is.

  • Late Night Vigilante Runs - As Dylan starts to suss out what his powers are and what kind of hero he wants to be, he's going to start sneaking out at night to try and do the (Anti)Hero Thing solo. This could not possibly backfire in any way and he's definitely not going to get in over his head. (He is going to get in over his head.)

  • Also I'm gonna get him a guitar - angsty grungy teen needs an outlet for his anger trauma so I'm gonna find a way to get a guitar in his hands so he can start channeling that anger creatively. As he learns guitar he'll post videos of him getting better at playing it, and maybe even start a band. We're getting a lot of musicians in game! That's cool. We should all jam. Or maybe do like, a battle of the bands? That could be a while off.

  • I'll probably think of more right when someone replies and i can't edit anymore. :p Nice to meet you all!
