GUIDELINES

This game has no minimum activity requirement for posts and comments. To this end, links to threads are not required. Please read the guidance below for how to check-in and register a continued interest in playing.

NEW PLAYERS
Players accepted in this calendar month do not need to reply to this post. Instead, visit the TAKEN CHARACTERS page and ensure that all character information is posted and up to date. Double-check that all your character's game information is correct — including community membership, character tags, and the listing on the GUILDS page.

CONTINUING PLAYERS
All continuing players must check in. Failure to complete the form below by the last day of the activity check-in period may result in characters being swept from the game. Players can reapply for their swept characters during the next application cycle. Players have until October 31st to reply.

FORM

The form below asks players to summarize their character's actions for the month. When completing the form, players should consider aspects of their characters' lives like work, resource gathering, interpersonal relationship development, personality growth, and how the character's reputation with the guilds and the world at large may have changed.

Players of these characters have passed their decision deadline and lost their residency in the Diadem Hotel. Therefore, this month, these players must link to the character's comment on the GUILDS page in their summary. (Remember that there is an Unaligned header!) This form creates a resource for others to check membership status as well as a record of employment and housing.

Please also remember to comment on the HOUSING page with any preferences. Characters who have commented to the Guilds page but not the Housing page will be randomly assigned housing at the end of the activity period.

Summary: Angela started working security at the Opherium Theater, in an agreement with her brother Loki. She also attended his masquerade ball, in full gold regalia. She briefly conversed with Jane Foster online, but they did not go into much detail. She attempted to reach out to her other brother Loki when she heard that he had created a magical replica of Billy Kaplan, but her attempts didn't go very far. Otherwise, she is still unaligned, still meting out vigilante justice against men who manhandle women in Central City.

In general, Jason's continuing to do his thing as a crime lord and vigilante. He's still trying to stay under the radar given how serious anti-meta sentiments have gotten. Much related to that, he talked to Johnny Danger and is now thinking about joining the Society because of the benefits he could get from that. Furthermore, Tim has convinced him to open up a new bar as a way to keep an eye on Central's criminal underworld. Afterwards, he talked to Stephanie to hire her and Cass. He's going to be a man of many hats soon.

Jason's also decided to keep the BatGym and maintaining it because it's useful having a private gym, even if he has to share with the other BatFamily members.

Socially, he mingled and hung out for Dylan Brock's birthday party and had some mildly awkward moments at the masquerade ball Loki held at The Opherium.

Summary: Mayuko is getting her life in order in Sunset Falls, working in the library! Two major things happened this month.

1. Mayuko got dressed up real fancy and attended Loki's masquerade gala. She met some people anonymously thanks to the masks, and found Jason and Sephiroth because they are nonconformists who noped out of enchanted masks. There was also a transformed!Eddie that Mayuko kept company.

2. Halloween Event! Midmonth, Mayuko performed her civic duty and sent out a warning from the Sunset Falls ghost population re: the Underworld. Later on, she was transformed into a kotobuki. She tried to hide it with a guild glamor with varying success. And now she is Having a Time in another (faerie?) dimension with Balthier so probably will not head to the Underworld unless it's absolutely necessary.

Summary: David has continued his work with Adaptech, furthering progress on the prosthetic arm work. Outside of that he worked to get Loki to give him and Balthier magical stones to help them escape Excelsior to safety in an emergency. He's continued his training with Sephiroth and served as romantic advice for the man. And of course he went even further with dealing with the romantic tangle that was Loki and Tim, to his own exhaustion. Other than that he had some fun at the ball the eldest looking Loki threw, where he had fun and tried to ignore all of the issues going on back home in Excelsior.

Summary: Mark accidentally started making more Meta friends this month, through accidentally talking to Squirrels with Doreen, meeting Jayce, and having to deal with powers out of control when he borrowed those of Tommy Shepherd. He's also gone fan over Otto, trying to talk to the guy about how good he can be as a hero. After all of that he escorted River to the ball, and enjoyed a night of security to talk to other metas about being metas, even as he considers where he should join.

Summary: Will reunited with Nico and got introduced to Otto when he first arrived. While getting situated and ultimately deciding to join the Alliance for practical reasons, he made some new friends his age because Instagram chaos! He was then invited to a birthday party that turned sleepover and, naturally, joined Nico and his friends on a quest through the Underworld to get to the bottom of all the weirdness happening. A lot of him settling in has been strengthening his relationships with other people with help from Nico.

Summary:

Since it was his first month in game, Jayce has been focused on adapting to his new life. He visited the different cities to get a feel of them and talk to the people there, to get a better feel about the population's opinions about metas. He's also socialized with other super-powered people, went to a masquerade ball, and contacted Miss Anima to request help with his power (and later the silent mystic). Mastering his powers / the classes is an ongoing thing that will take him some weeks. He's considering Anima's suggestion of helping the metas PR team, as well as going to Excelsior to offer his engineering skill to help with community projects and humanitarian work. He's also turned into a Harpy thanks to the mes in Sunset Falls.

Jayce still needs to make his final decision but leaning toward joining the Guardians Alliance. Seems like he can do the most good to society when working with them and using the available resources.

He also talked to Mechanima about the Society and about his pet project: finding out about Starstruck. That went well(???) and he decided that instead of joining the heroes, he's gonna join...the other guys. HE KNOWS! He knows the optics and he knows May wouldn't be thrilled but it feels like a better thing for him to do. For now. He also got Mechanima to agree to mentor him with the technomancy thing. That can't possibly end badly ever, I'm sure.

Summary: Six officially has signed on with the Alliance. Give how little love coverage Little Love has, he decided the best thing to do would be to move out there and already start getting ready for if he gets snowed in for winter due to how rural the area is. He's saving as much of the guild stipend as he can to afford a used truck, but for now he's carrying what he needs back from town to the farmhouse as a bit of extra training. Because he's a madman.

He's also doing what he can to learn about this new world so that way he'll be prepared for if the Alliance pulls him in for a major mission. That and making trips back and forth to Central to try and get properly situated in addition to monitoring his nanites. He also attended the masquerade ball with the intention to learn more about the major players, but as he explained to Diana the magical masks kind of foiled that plan.

Summary: Loki's memories returned this month, which is a net good but it has shaken up their relationship somewhat. Sephiroth sought advice from David, but still hasn't been able to resolve his doubts about Loki's desire for romance. He was quite the social butterfly at Loki's masquerade, as in he stood near the wall and talked to people. Some of them were even new. He actually didn't hate it! But now he has been turned into some kind of one-winged monster and he does hate that. It's making him extremely uncomfortable with his own body and what he is, but it might be helping him to unlock more of his powers.

• billy • has been doing really well in his influencer era, recently bought a new house in sunset falls for the Squad, and is currently a weird tentacle guy. He's amassed a pretty huge following online and pretty much cashing in on it while he can. He's never been Rich(tm) before so he's being a lil stupid with his money but he has at least invested some of it into savings etc.

She and Robin went together to the Opherium masquerade and had a blast, so her month is ending on a high note!

Summary: Real talk, I dropped the ball this month and didn't do much of anything after putting up a post near the beginning.

That said, the big guy did happily demonstrate his new speech abilities and is incredibly proud to have them. Definitely something he'll be using quite a lot, with thanks to Loki for making it happen.

I also know he'd actually hold off on going back home just yet. Much as he does miss his adopted father, Godzilla has a code of honor and wants to pay back Loki and the mages group at least once before doing so. Plenty of time to find out it doesn't work as well as most would like.

Summary: Burnout month for me so Stephen's mostly been doing more of the same as last month with the occasional bit of interpersonal drama on the side. He's -1 kid Loki, it's a very sad time.

Summary: While for the most part, Hibiki has been doing her best to keep up with her busy schedule, she joined her friends (Nico, Hunter, and Dylan) on a trip down into the underworld, where she met Hades (though while I've put Hibiki down for that interaction, nothing has happened yet, so while I'm lacking in the specific details right now, I'm sure it goes fine. Hibiki has a good personality on her, after all).

Aside from that, the sudden influx of cast members will have Hibiki attempting to secure a bigger place in order to keep everyone—save for the Alchemists—together, mostly because that's just Hibiki being Hibiki, but also because after months of not seeing all of her friends? She is a little extra clingy and that has of course resulted in this happening.

Summary: Tommy stopped a bank robbery like a good hero and immediately peaced out because Mark copied his powers and almost blew the place up. His twin is back, always exciting news, and Billy’s floating the theory that Tommy’s powers are actually magic, which Tommy isn’t taking well because the implication is that he himself manifested the powers that have often made his life difficult. Doreen got him to go to the masquerade.

Summary: At least half the month was kind of a wash for me, but Nox has been fairly busy. He's started asking around for people to help with a little side project to hopefully get at least a knock-off version of the Holonet established as a backup form of communication just in case the growing anti-Meta sentiments really take a turn for the worst, but there's been no real progress on it. He's not even sure how they'd establish it in the first place, he's still in the "find someone who'd be capable of handling it" phase. He'd also prefer it be something handled exclusively by the metas who show up via confluence, he does not want or trust the guilds to be the involved.

Other than that, he's also started expanding the roster of people involved in the ongoing cult investigation and is working on sorting out how committed / useful they'd be, and where they'd be of the most help. He'll also be reaching out to the Guardians--reluctantly--to give them a heads up of what he and Strange have discovered, but will only be sharing the minimal amount of information necessary to (hopefully) ensure they're prepared in case all hell breaks loose. There'll be an update regarding all of that to the plotting / setting engagement page within the next day or so.
