HOUSEKEEPING
⚔︎ We won't be having events for November and December while we bring our new mod team up to speed and write up the events for the coming new year. This is the perfect time for player plots, so feel free to share your ideas with us at PLAYER PLOTS. If you want to follow up on an event, investigate the setting or interact with a NPC, you can also hit up SETTING ENGAGEMENT and NPC ENGAGEMENT respectively.
The bolded parts of this post are meant to highlight areas that players can interact with and affect.
⚔︎ For the November application round, any current player can extend one invitation. Players planning to invite someone this round should comment below with the player's information!
⚔︎ This game has an unofficial DISCORD SERVER! As a reminder, the moderators will not be monitoring the server's contents. However, players who have issues in the server are still welcome to bring their concerns to us at MOD CONTACT, just as they would with Plurk.

THIS MONTH
⚔︎ SEPTEMBER ARRIVALS LOSE THEIR FREE RIDE! When characters first arrived, the guilds promised to help them get their footing. Per notices sent to each occupied room, characters have until NOVEMBER 26TH before their stay at the Diadem Hotel comes to an end. Characters who commit to a guild may take advantage of the associated housing subsidy or may use their own personal income to secure private housing.
Players unsure whether this affects their characters can check on the GUILDS page. As characters are removed from the Diadem Hotel, players should comment to the HOUSING page with updates on where they are staying. The deadline for November arrivals is January 27.
⚔︎ CENTRAL CITY — The efforts to improve relations between baseline humans and metahuman has not gone unnoticed. People may find that even the dour folk of Central City appear to be warming to them. You may find a person or two sporting a sticker featuring our resident top preforming metahuman idol, Hibiki.
Crime also appears to be a little more... contained. Meaning that there is ample opportunity for someone new to step in and start stirring the pot. It's still Central City, so violence is par for the course. However, it appears a group of metahuman criminals have taken an interest in cleaning up the streets a little. The D'Amico family is understandably not happy. There's a demand for information on a man in a red mask and his associates.
Meanwhile, Anima seems to be speaking highly of a new arrival who sought out her tutelage. She hopes more follow in kind, stressing the need for responsible power usage when she speaks. While Atomight seems to be buried under more and more bureaucracy, often arriving late to highly televised events requiring heroic intervention. Fantastic has been timely to every single one, and while he surely gets the job done, one can't help but feel many of his fights are staged. There seems to be a war for the heart and soul of heroism in this world brewing.
⚔︎ LITTLE LOVE - A big Happy Birthday goes out to one Dylan Brock. The people of Little Love send their best wishes and hope that more parties happen in the near future.
The harvest season is winding down, but there's still much to be done. A bulletin goes up early in the month, stating that Little Love is seeking folks - metahuman or otherwise - to help them with lingering chores. Some of it is terribly mundane - grading the potatoes, storing grain for winter, harvesting hay and wheat. Some of it is... less so. The sentient potatoes are back, and they're causing mayhem once again. The townsfolk seem confident that once it's cold enough they'll burrow back underground. In the mean time, they need wrangling.
If you need a break from the hustle and bustle, come stay in this sleepy little town.
⚔︎ SUNSET FALLS - The Hellmouth is closed again... Well, mostly. It appears it's still open a crack, enough for beings to slip in and out of if they wish to visit again. Classes have resumed, much to the chagrin of the normal human population of the town. Though they're surely buoyed by the high-end soiree that happened last month, courtesy of the Loki that operates The Opherium. The people are already planning what they'd like to wear next year... assuming someone doesn't become their costume again.
In the interim, November is setting itself up to be a relaxing month. A new bar-slash love hotel opened downtown. It calls itself Heartbeat. The business is operated by Eros, meaning that it's hours are infrequent and its goal is largely to facilitate hookups and lovey-dovey fun to power the young God, who has been dragged from his self-imposed exile in his manor to try to bring some sense of order to the town. The Godling is happy to talk to anyone who approaches, and may even foist jobs onto them.
And, speaking of jobs, would you like to be Mayor of Sunset Falls? Mayor West is absolutely begging someone to take this position from him. Feel free to apply here. The campaign will run through the first week of December, and all runners are encouraged to put forth their best propoga - I mean, smear campaign- I mean, foot. Their best foot forward.
⚔︎ EXCELSIOR - No news appears to be good news, at least for now. The protests are still waging, and it appears that The Society has been intervening with many of the anti-metahuman debates that have been going on. No one outside of Excelsior has actually witnessed one, as "technical difficulties" appear to be popping up.
That said, the city is realizing that it needs metahuman heroes. Not just for the services they offer - Adaptatech and its employees are certainly garnering a little buzz - but because Excelsior is a dangerous place even without superpowers going off every other day. As many have opted to leave, giant robots invented by supposedly baseline scientists are going on rampages far more often. There's ample opportunity for rebuilding here.
Someone with a mind for politics may want to slide into the open seat in the City Council. Feel free to put your name forward for the position, if you don't mind an uphill battle.
