GUIDELINES

This game has no minimum activity requirement for posts and comments. To this end, links to threads are not required. Please read the guidance below for how to check-in and register a continued interest in playing.

NEW PLAYERS
Players accepted in this calendar month do not need to reply to this post. Instead, visit the TAKEN CHARACTERS page and ensure that all character information is posted and up to date. Double-check that all your character's game information is correct — including community membership, character tags, and the listing on the GUILDS page.

CONTINUING PLAYERS
All continuing players must check in. Failure to complete the form below by the last day of the activity check-in period may result in characters being swept from the game. Players can reapply for their swept characters during the next application cycle. Players have until February 25th to reply.

FORM

The form below asks players to summarize their character's actions for the month. When completing the form, players should consider aspects of their characters' lives like work, resource gathering, interpersonal relationship development, personality growth, and how the character's reputation with the guilds and the world at large may have changed.

Players of these characters have passed their decision deadline and lost their residency in the Diadem Hotel. Therefore, this month, these players must link to the character's comment on the GUILDS page in their summary. (Remember that there is an Unaligned header!) This form creates a resource for others to check membership status as well as a record of employment and housing.

Please also remember to comment on the HOUSING page with any preferences. Characters who have commented to the Guilds page but not the Housing page will be randomly assigned housing at the end of the activity period.

Links are otherwise not required, but players who include activity links to threads in their summaries and/or make clear reference to the resources they're gathering and relationships they're building may find that their characters ICly receive extra support from the guilds when attempting to run plots.

Summary: David and Balthier continued their investigations into the murder of Balthier's former boss this month, leading up to them trying to get information from a non-meta who they thought might be associated in the case. This led to a very public confrontation between Prodigy and Anathema, mostly staged so Balthier could get their possible source out, but also to build their guild reputations. Processing the information further fell through a little when David ended up caught in the AU bubble, living an 'ideal' life. Balthier tried to save him, but David turned him away at first. He lived his life until finally broken free by Balthier, and feeling bad about the whole thing.

In less life altering encounters, David also spent some time prodding at his younger Meta friend, Bart Allen, in trying to get the guy to wear actually club appropriate clothes, shesh.

Summary: Mark spent time further adjusting to guild associated life, finalizing his costume with guild help. He tried to emotionally support his boss when Loki's brother left in a prior confluence, but that didn't go well. Then the whole 'mind wash bubble' happened. Mark tried his best to reach out to people for guidance for how he could help, because the divide in Alliance leadership and them being sensible or not meant he was looking for alternative paths to success. This meant he tried to emotionally support and encourage those with missing loved ones, seek advice from organizers (like Hardison), and even reach out to Ikol-Loki to ask if Magic could burst the bubble.

She still has a goal to present herself as a Big Damn Hero - which this month's event absolutely enabled her to do, sinking into a heroic role with a comfortable, warm life she isn't even consciously aware she desperately craves.

Her reputation may be forged by her own recklessness - threatening civilians who threaten other heroes, for instance. She's a loose siege cannon, and the biggest thing keeping this off the radar is she hasn't demonstrated her powers in full as of yet.

Eda secured a residence over in Sunset Falls at the best of times. She didn't even get a chance to move in properly (not that she really has anything, but a girl needs a place to put her staff down!) before getting hit with the AU event. That probably won't make things weird later, right?

In this AU, this she's lived the life of a human witch and paranormal investigator. Now retired, she lives with Hunter as her adopted son. It's a good life. She teaches, she has free time. Enough to be Loki's Luke's loudest supporter for his drag queen persona. Things are good, they're good, but. . . we can't all dream forever. Things are already cracking at the seams.

The fact that she's a cultist who negotiates with crime lords is on the downlow, in SF standards. Will likely be drug out of the bubble kicking and screaming and be hella depressed the rest of the month.

Summary: Hardison has been laying low with Eliot, but now that they're seprated by the event, Hardison's pulling all the stops and rallying a team together to try and figure this thing out. He's focusing on recon at the moment, trying to see if there's anything Fantastic missed — or failed to mention.

At the moment, he's also trying to con anyone inside the bubble into leaving the perimeter, with false promises of treasure and riches just outside its borders.

It's not clear just yet whether it's working or not, but at the very least, a similar plan to annoy the hell out of Eliot seems to be working so far. If the man gets mad enough, he'll leave the perimeter just to kick this "Jim Sterling" person's ass.

Summary: Huvrye has mostly been keeping his head down for the beginning of the month - he's taken out a bank account in his name and has been withdrawing money from the card to shore it up before he loses the card entirely. He's also been bonding with Leo and will officially take a bullet for this kid. He doesn't get caught in the AU Confluence, so he spends the event essentially making speed runs into the affected zone, grabbing targets, and flying them outside of the barrier so they'll wake up. (He also picked a fight with Fantastic, which definitely won't have adverse consequences for him going forward.)

At the end of the month, because he doesn't have much of a choice in the matter, he joins the Alliance.

(I've been in collapse mode all month; hopefully I'll have a little more going on next month, but we'll see how things go.)

They both got caught up in the AU bubble, causing them to believe they're married and that Tina is their adopted daughter. Sephiroth is still a Meta but in a normal, accidental way where his parents didn't experiment on him and he has a great mom and grew up knowing love, and was able to instantly recognize how messed up it is to force people to be soldiers... He's going to be big mad once he's snapped out of it.

Summary: Nox was fortunate enough to have been outside Sunset Falls when things got a little fucky-wucky and trapped people in alternate realities. And while he was perfectly willing to be compliant and pitch in the last time the Godfall protocols were activated, he sees this most recent activation as premature and just a little bit arrogant and has refused to go along with any of the official missions into the affected areas as a result.

However, he *did* volunteer to assist with more unofficial endeavors, in particular offering his services to Alec Hardison's effort. It may be slower than using the provided teleporters, but given the speeds his Interceptor is capable of isn't by much. And unlike the portable teleporters, using his ship would mean anyone who needed to bring along anything they couldn't carry themselves would be able to do so with ease.

He's also been sending messages to Mechanima by way of low-ranking Society members, looking to arrange collaboration to establish a pseudo-Holonet here on Earth (see: here for reference, if needed). Despite having the opportunity to approach Mechanima at Alliance HQ due to the latest confluence, he opted not to do so given all the faction heads were busy with more immediate concerns...and, more importantly, because he has no intention of discussing the project in the same building as government agents.

As for the AU bubble, Hibiki infiltrated it alongside Miku in order to save her friends, Chris and Tsubasa. In which she protag speeches so incredibly well that, relationship drama aside, her friends are recovered without too much issue.

Summary: Balthier and David reunited and processed the de-age event, and he also checked in on Otto and Sephiroth following it. Then Balthier and David had a staged fight to keep up their guild requirements and distract while the investigated a contact of lead on Balthier's boss's murder.

Balthier was out of town when the AU event hit, meaning everyone he knew was stuck. He had some disastrous first attempts to get people out but eventually succeeded.
