⚔︎ The world of Metaheroes is shifting, but remaining the same at the same time. As all of the aftermath plays out, the government and the guilds are in a holding pattern while they try to work out exactly how a mistake like Fantastic could have been allowed to happen in the first place. No new leadership will take over the Alliance while its upper echelon of members try to untangle how the cult could be so involved in their everyday activities. Anyone reaching out to Alliance members – aside from Atomight, who will occasionally make himself available – will be met with requests to wait for further announcements.

After all, Chaos Gate's message of "no more Confluences" has left a lot more than just the guilds in disarray. Though the "Confluences" - the monthly storms of clashing energy which empowered people and brought in Starfallen - seem to have stopped, she did more than stop the nightmarish storms.

She’s stopped the Confluences at their source. She’s stopped the flow of meta energy all together.

This world, built on the extraordinary, is becoming... ordinary.

⚔︎ LITTLE LOVE - Once a sleepy town with the occasional weirdness from farm animals going on strikes and other unusual circumstances, it's now settled down... a lot The crops appear to be normal. Some of the more unusually intelligent livestock appear… dimmer. The quiet hum through the town that signaled alien technology buried beneath their feet has gone silent. Anything else unusual has either gone into hiding – or appears completely normal. The people in Little Love seem perturbed, as though it suits their rural earth lives much better, those who came from the stars fear the loss of their old ways and a true inability to ever return home.

⚔︎ CENTRAL CITY - Central City is the unofficial metahuman capital of the world - so it's no surprise that they're the most impacted by the change. Though no more mass conflicts appears to be a good thing, as the city is eager to finally fully rebuild after a year of near constant disasters... the efforts are stalling as the meta construction crews report many workers losing their strength. With Mechanima releasing his hold on Central City, many who were displaced by the quarantine return to their homes, lending more to the workforce. However, heroes born of this world struggle to do fieldwork, reporting that their powers no longer function consistently. Metahuman villains rush to fill the void, they find that they too are not as effective as they once were. In the vacuum of power left behind, the D’Amico family begins making moves.

⚔︎ SUNSET FALLS - On the flipside, Sunset Falls is feeling the impact the most. The weird little hole under that high school? It's no longer brimming with activity. While there is still a bit of magical energy in the air, it's far more dampened and seems to be threatening to disappear by the second. Any spells or wards cast around the city are far less powerful, and anyone attuned to magic will be able to sense that without regular upkeep, these wards will permanently fade. The seers in Sunset Falls have reported that they can see the future with more clarity than they have in the last year and change; however, it comes with a sense of foreboding: that what they see is a blinding light. Is it a sign of an actual apocalypse approaching? No one seems to have any answers as to what it means.

Perhaps it’s time to patronize your local fortune teller and see what your future holds... if anyone even has one.

⚔︎ EXCELSIOR - Excelsior is running into some... issues. Once believed to be the center of technological progress that separated itself from reliance on so-called 'meta-energy', it's becoming apparent that it's progress was built upon what the Confluences provided. The influx of weakening metahumans is effecting the super-geniuses who have taken up residence in Excelsior. The smartest among them find themselves struggling, forgetting knowledge that they had previously thought was self-obtained. Though many had escaped classification for long, it appears Excelsior’s elite are metas themselves, as super-powered brains are no less of a power than super strength. With the failing genius comes failing infrastructure. Many of the more advanced pieces of technology aren't working – clean energy, most security systems, and more. Don't worry, though – the cars are still flying safely. So, that's good!

One particular scientist, Dr. Timaeus, requests volunteers for a study between Starfallen and native metahumans to discover why the power flux seems to only be effecting those who were born on planet.

Hello, Heroes!

⚔︎ Given that applications were closed in July, we're going to be giving current players two invitations for August's app round, same as we had in June.

Two quick ones!

1. What happened to Lofty Heights when things started getting less “super”; is it still floating around up there? It’s probably on summer break still but will classes come back later?

2. Are guild teleporters still working?
dothelokimotion: (The exact problem is currently unclear)

1. Are there any consequences for Loki going around to strengthen the wards?

2. Can Kyle track the D'Amicos to their hideouts?

Are there any particular Sunset Falls seers of note who would approach the Starfallen? Or that are really well known in town? When she knows the "visions terminating in bright light" are a thing, Mayuko would query seers of all levels for consensus. But she'd need an in. Hopefully her Alliance status won't be off-putting.
