SEPTEMBER STATE OF THE GAME
STATE OF THE GAME
⚔︎ September 1st repeats, continuously, although the length of time of this repeat seems to vary from person to person. The order of September 1sts doesn't seem consistent, either, timelines branching out from each other before melding back together. The reason behind this becomes clear when the Willow Maiden approaches the Starfallen - although Chaos Gate traveling to the past isn't the only thing currently happening. . .
⚔︎ For those who choose to stay in the present:
⚔︎ LITTLE LOVE - the wildlife who had escaped from the underground cavern still need to be rounded up, and there are several farmers who have stations set up throughout their land for holding the pre-historic creatures. Bounties go out for particularly rough to capture animals, with farmers also requesting assistance protecting their livestock from the invasion. Some of the animals are quite friendly, albeit confused regarding where they are given how unfamiliar 2023 is to many of them. But not all of them, and those who are a little more feral need to be dealt with.
⚔︎ CENTRAL CITY - While native metahumans continue to see a decline in their abilities, the D'Amicos and the drugs they have made to replicate metahuman abilities don't seem to be suffering the same fate. And with rumors spreading about the weakening metahumans, clearly that means it's time for them to step out and try to regain some of the power they had lost during the Pod People invasion several months ago. They start out small - sending some low level croons out to rob a few banks on opposite ends of the city all at the same time to test the Alliance's forces. When they manage to get away with a couple robberies, they start going bigger: targeting rival families with full intentions of removing them from power entirely.
⚔︎ SUNSET FALLS - The Annual Harvest Festival continues. It usually runs from September 1st to 10th, but given the endless repeats of September 1sts, this one feels especially long. Townsfolk continue to go missing, bodies turning up hours later. As the days of the festival continue, one may notice that when the bodies do turn up, they're missing. . parts. Whether it's a hand, a heart, a tongue, they don't quite return whole.
Towards the end of the Festival, it gets worse. Instead of one or two townsfolk going missing, towards the end of the festival an entire classroom of teenagers goes missing after their first day of school. Yet strangely, none of the townsfolk seem to think anything of it. Their parents don't even seem to remember who the teenagers were, ignoring areas of their homes where the teenagers had frequented.
⚔︎ EXCELSIOR - Power outages continue, although with the extra help around, they're keeping most the damage to a minimum. However, on September 10th, the power goes off and simply. . . doesn't turn back on. Back up generators are able to keep some businesses afloat, but those without generators simply don't turn back on at all. It seems the power grid has failed, and they're struggling to figure out why. Nothing seems wrong at the power generation plants, they're still producing energy, but it just seems to . . dissipate. Could it have anything to do with the hole in the sky?

HOUSEKEEPING
Hello, Heroes!
⚔︎ We're updating AC a bit more! Instead of the warning list going up on day 3, we're going to start putting it up on day 5, and leave the 25th-27th for buffer space for players who end up on the warning list to respond. This will be effective for the September activity round.
⚔︎ Have any fun plans? Hit us up on PLAYER PLOTS! If you want to follow up on an event, investigate the setting or interact with a NPC, you can also hit up SETTING ENGAGEMENT and NPC ENGAGEMENT respectively.
⚔︎ The CALENDAR reflects our current schedule accurately up through October, including estimated shifted dates.
⚔︎ As a note on the calendar and dates - we're going to be doing some adjusting here in the future for event logs! This is to allow for more room for players, and ensure we're able to get everything up on time. We want to note that our plan is to allow time for players to affect the outcome of logs. We'll be keeping an eye on how players interact with events and logs, and if it looks like players could use a little more time to reach a certain outcome, we'll be asking on the OOC comm if players would prefer to adjust the timeline a little to allow for more room to play with the setting.
⚔︎ This may mean that the State of the Game won't accurately reflect dates once we get further into events. We will be updating the game CALENDAR as this comes up, and will make sure to let players know via the OOC comm also.
⚔︎ To that end, we're going to be moving introduction logs to the first Friday of the month and the event log to the third Wednesday. If an event log is delayed due to needing more time for players to interact with it, we will delay it until the next Wednesday.
⚔︎ There will be a bonus intro option on acceptance notices going forward, to allow players to play with the game before our intro log goes up if they would like to.
⚔︎ This game has an unofficial DISCORD SERVER! As a reminder, the moderators will not be monitoring the server's contents. However, players who have issues in the server are still welcome to bring their concerns to us at MOD CONTACT, just as they would with Plurk.
