OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for your initial arrival! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.

You are free to post your intro after reading this post! We will not be posting a log for this.

The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.

TRUST NOT JULY SKIES — CENTRAL CITY

The first well-needed thunderstorm of the July season brings with it yet another storm of falling people. A crack of thunder, a flash of brilliant lightning, and bodies are sent tumbling to the earth. The mystical failsafes will reach out to catch you before you hit the ground, though they’re only as competent as the wizards who cast them and you may find yourself lost in an unfamiliar city.

Fear not. There are heroes (and villains) combing the streets for new arrivals such as yourself. However you are free to slip further into the city, investigating the world you've fallen into and learning how to make your own way within it.

Throughout the week the sky will be behaving... oddly. Gaze for too long at those dark rolling clouds and you may feel yourself unmoored. The world around you stops feeling like this one you've come to know. You may feel the sticky heat of the one you've left. The ache of wounds you bore upon your arrival. Something seems to be pulling and you feel yourself falling, the world only righting itself when your body forces you to blink and look away. You gasp, drawing air into your lungs, and feel the compulsion to run for shelter.

The people of this world don't seem to have this problem. Yet others who fell to this world will report similar feelings. A sense of being drawn back, of being unbalanced. Perhaps it would be best to get out of the city. To find somewhere else to stay, enjoy a nice beach vacation until those stormclouds blow away.

The Guilds both appear to be relatively satisfied that this confluence only brought new people and didn't empower the populace any further than it already has been. The sheer amounts of destruction are getting hard to keep up with.

But it feels like you've arrived on the cusp of something... major. There's a spark in the air just waiting to catch fire.

LODGINGS —

Once the Guardian Alliance arrives in Atlantis to offer new arrivals an explanation and transport back to the surface, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!

Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.

Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

Steph just looks into the distance, haunted, thinking of Man-Bat.

They're a fairly new side-character in the Marvel world. Venom's youngest spawn. I play them as agender because since Klyntar symbiotes reproduce asexually why conform to some other species' imposed standards?

And yeah, Bart and Steph would probably be those two "kids" sitting in the back of the room passing notes and snickering (Even as Bart is able to completely recall everything he pays attention to.)

Hi! Cass will absolutely ghost in and out of the farm. There are chickens!!! It'll be interesting to see if Sleeper and Cass get along, especially since Sleeper is hanging out with Jason.

I just realized that Sleeper has the ability to use their chemokinesis to create a telepathic link which could be useful for CR. They don't generally try to do stuff like that unless they feel the situation calls for it.

And yeah. Small chickens that aren't really worth eating and never will be. They're for eggs. No rooster means nobody has to worry about the whole eating potential chicks part. Come September they should each be laying about 5 a week or so, so everyone who knows Bart has a handy source of cage-free eggs.

Steph tragically lacks perfect recall but she can ask Bart for the SparkNotes afterwards

In terms of CR wishes, really just here to toss her at everyone and anyone! Some types she might more inclined toward are: people who hail from any kind of magic-based world (or worlds that include magic or another form of power) would be a source of fascination for her

...feels like an opportune time to mention Sunset Falls has a ghost-eating Sith Lord in it, just vibin' amidst all the crazy.

Well. He doesn't literally eat them, he just absorbs them and binds them so he can siphon off their power. Kind of like the Energizer Bunny, if the Energizer Bunny dabbled in necromancy (you know, publicly. I'm on to you, you immortal pink bastard!).

iiiinteresting! well, Yen may be looking into potentially living in Sunset Falls in the semi-near future, after she pretends she's not interested in shacking up with Jaskier at all

and coincidentally, necromancy is sort of Frowned Upon as a form of magic in the Witcherverse (though that doesn't stop some sorcerers from doing it sort of in secret), but hey, she's all about drawing power from one source to channel another!
