AUGUST OOC WELCOME & PLOTTING POST
OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to
metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for your initial arrival! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.
You are free to post your intro after reading this post! We will not be posting a log for this.
The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.
Your characters are arriving in the middle of our fourth wall event, Crisis On Infinite Dreamwidths. Why they're staying behind will be explained in our final log.

FOLLOW THE YELLOWBRICK ROAD - ???
The sky has cracked open, the world has shifted on its axis and here you are in the middle of the greatest crisis this world has known.
You arrive more or less as the unmoored have done. Thrown into this world with little to do but adapt, take stock and wait for the worlds Heroes to fix things. While people move from dimension to dimension, you always end up back here, like a tether pulling you home. It doesn't make much sense, because you weren't here before, but what does make sense in the midst of all this chaos?
What matters is maybe there's something comforting in that pull, that warm drag back here. Home is where you make it, after all.

LODGINGS —
Once the Guardian Alliance arrives in Atlantis to offer new arrivals an explanation and transport back to the surface, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!
Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.
Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

QUESTIONS
no subject
Preferred Communication: you can find me on plurk at
Character Name & Journal: Chrissy Cunningham (
Guild Affiliation: Currently unaligned. Chrissy's in a pretty fragile place right now and may be easily talked into joining something, but at first she's just going to be taking it easy.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Chrissy wants friends. She's desperate for any kind of connection she can make with others, especially ones who don't mind that she's currently struggling after coming back from being dead and is a little skittish.
Plot/CR Hooks: Chrissy's technically been around for about six months. I had her show up during a previous Confluence, a crumpled and dead mess straight out of canon. She was revived and has been in the hospital for a long time; and after being released she was given a crash course in modern everything by Steve, Eddie, and Billy. I'm sure given the state her body was in, there might have been some kind of pictures taken and posted to corners of the internet. So feel free to have had your character see that if they're the type to visit weird websites.
After being introduced to social media, she's taken off on things like tiktok and instagram, and is vibing by getting some sponsorship deals out of it. Very easy to have seen her on one of those!
She's pretty focused on trying to discover what her superpowers are, so she can be seen around...doing that. Mentors and people who like to laugh at struggling heroes in training are welcome to come help her out. One of her powers is dream walking, which I plan on doing some logs with, so hmu if you'd be interested in doing some dream nonsense.
Otherwise, she offers sunshine CR even when she's going through a really hard time. She's endlessly patient and very kind, and will seriously find a good side to anyone. So bring me your sad and your grouchy and your sinister.

1. Nico is dating a ball of sunshine that also glows, so he definitely likes that overall personality. This is the main reason; he’ll brood in a dark room listening to Metallica all night and sleep all day if I don’t load him down with friends.
2. Has broken his sister Hazel out from the underworld who was murdered by a dark mythological being.
3. Is also time displaced.
4. Has a lot of control over his own dreams/some dream walking abilities.
5. Has some issues with food.
In short, he’d be surprisingly friendly with her and definitely protective of her if he got to know here.

Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Robin Buckley (
Guild Affiliation: She just got here so she's currently unaligned but she likely will join up with the Alliance after doing some research.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Robin first arrived during the 4th wall event, so she's supremely interested in learning more about the rifts between worlds that will be more prevalent now that the game is launching into Arc Two. She also wants to get caught up to speed on the big, bright future of 2022 (36 years past her canon point), and learn how future technology like social media, etc. works. She also wants to learn more about the LGBTQ+ scene these days, since that was not something that was talked about in 1980's rural Indiana. ALSO, she wants to figure out more about her superpowers and learn how to use them effectively.
Plot/CR Hooks:

First of all, Robin + Robin shenanigans.
Second, she likes conspiracy theories, and Tim is dating a conspiracy theorist back home. I think that he's secretly amused and endeared by them. He's really good at connecting things with red yarn and thumbtacks.
Third, I'm actually planning to put up an open for him at one of the NPCs LGBTQ+ support groups on the upcoming long weekend. If they're both attending for the first time...
no subject
I say she'll probably join up with the Alliance, but she's still going to be hella suspicious, especially once her research brings up the Godfall event with Starstruck. So they can definitely chat conspiracies over that.
And she will definitely go check out an LGBTQ+ support group because what is this novelty???

It's a place where you're supposed to. Talk and stuff. About your experiences and feelings.
Or just hide in the corner.

i think robin and steph would probably get along like a house on fire. steph is also kind of an awkward disaster sometimes, rip

I only know about Steph tangentially from fandom osmosis but I definitely think she and Robin would get along. Do you have anything open with Steph I could hit up, or any plans for the month?
no subject
i tossed her at loki's theatre thing here! if that might be something robin's into. in terms of plans i have a grand total of zero bc these past couple weeks have been a bit of an irl disaster so im just getting back into poking around the game, but im 100% down to plot something

He plans to start hitting the clubs. If she wants to come with, she'd have a buddy. While he's new to it, he's a really gregarious guy that's very comfortable with himself in general and he'd be encouraging to her about all of it.

Preferred Communication: discord or DM is your best bet.
Character Name & Journal: Logan |
Guild Affiliation: Logan's been unaligned since he landed and will continue to be because stubborn is his MO. As things ramp up against the unaligned he's most liable to dig in his heels and be a real dick about it. I'm super interested in using this as the inspo for whatever's going on with him this month as i get caught up in the middle of this huge event!
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: So far as Logan can tell, he's stuck here and resigned to going with the flow until a better idea comes long. Having a few familiar faces about doesn't hurt towards making him less inclined to fight for a way back home too rabidly either— if Jean's not worried, he's not worried.
His short term goals are all about making himself useful. The man lives and breathes acts of services. Specifically the kind that take some physical toll. He doesn't think himself either amazing or magical enough to offer much to those dealing with inter-dimensional shenanigans and nexuses and what have you, but if you need someone to get knocked down a lot, sniff out a body, or be a can opener. Sure. He'll help.
Plot/CR Hooks: Logan's been a bit of a Central City vigilante since his arrival preferring to keep a low profile and try to exist under the radar of the guilds. After teaming up with other Central City metas resulted in a lot of property damage and blood loss, he's been laying low.
When he does get out of the city for the peace and quiet he mostly ends up in Sunset Falls. Since the time he was not so subtly invited to run for mayor they've been pretty good to him there.

Ciri lives in Sunset Falls, and I’d love to just throw her at him and see what happens sometime XD

Preferred Communication: Journal PM or
Character Name & Journal: Six (
Guild Affiliation: Six could be swayed to join a guild if their goals align with his. He used to be a mercenary assassin before he joined Providence, after all.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:
His ultimate long-term goal is a cure for EVOs. He thinks maybe this world might provide an answer since they'll have a fresh perspective on the problem. The thing is he doesn't know yet that his nanites can't be passed on to others which on the one hand is good: can't infect this strange new world. On the other hand, can't have any properly removed for more intense study because of the event that brought him here. The only plus column in his book is that it doesn't seem like he'll randomly turn into a monster, so at least that constant worry in the back of his mind will stop. Yay.
His short-term goals are largely to find some place to stay and regular income. He's not planning to go back into the assassination business. He put that behind him to join Providence, after all.
And if the people he cares about at home ever show up, they'd probably be pissed at him. He's a combat specialist, so he knows most likely the guilds would be the way to go, but he doesn't know much about them yet.OOCly, I'd love for him to make friends/allies despite him being an antisocial person. He's willing to pass on his skills to others so they can protect the people they care about, but he doesn't teach afterschool martial arts. Fair warning.
Plot/CR Hooks:
In canon, Six is Rex's trainer and handler, described once by Rex himself as "kind of like a nanny but more aggro". (Which is why you'll hear the phrase "ninja nanny" tossed around on occasion in regards to him.) He fights alongside Rex against some truly dangerous threats. Not just the "I went EVO and went crazy" types either, but also types like Van Kleiss who desire world domination. The guy is basically the definition of "Badass Normal" because he has no powers of his own but can go toe-to-toe with EVOs many times his size and even win.
Since joining Providence, he's become one of the good guys, so he's more likely to fight alongside superheroes for the good of others or potentially alongside villains in the case of hero-villain team-ups to fight off bigger threats. However, his moral compass is still a bit too close to the red zone for comfort, so he isn't above taking a more ruthless option if it's the expedient way to get the job done. He has limits, of course, but sometimes he will take the route of "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one". He might be fighting alongside you as an ally but there might be times when he's the moral antagonist.
Prior to Providence, Six was a mercenary assassin, but he gave it up after One went EVO and he started searching for a cure. In canon, he maintained a lot of his old contacts to dig up intel when necessary, so he has some idea of where such people might lurk. It could be your character becomes one of his contacts when he needs to find out things that "good people shouldn't know".
