OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for your initial arrival! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.

You are free to post your intro after reading this post! We will not be posting a log for this.

The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.

Your characters are arriving in the middle of our fourth wall event, Crisis On Infinite Dreamwidths. Why they're staying behind will be explained in our final log.

FOLLOW THE YELLOWBRICK ROAD - ???

The sky has cracked open, the world has shifted on its axis and here you are in the middle of the greatest crisis this world has known.

You arrive more or less as the unmoored have done. Thrown into this world with little to do but adapt, take stock and wait for the worlds Heroes to fix things. While people move from dimension to dimension, you always end up back here, like a tether pulling you home. It doesn't make much sense, because you weren't here before, but what does make sense in the midst of all this chaos?

What matters is maybe there's something comforting in that pull, that warm drag back here. Home is where you make it, after all.

LODGINGS —

Once the Guardian Alliance arrives in Atlantis to offer new arrivals an explanation and transport back to the surface, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!

Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.

Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

Character Name & Journal: Logan | howlett

Guild Affiliation: Logan's been unaligned since he landed and will continue to be because stubborn is his MO. As things ramp up against the unaligned he's most liable to dig in his heels and be a real dick about it. I'm super interested in using this as the inspo for whatever's going on with him this month as i get caught up in the middle of this huge event!

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: So far as Logan can tell, he's stuck here and resigned to going with the flow until a better idea comes long. Having a few familiar faces about doesn't hurt towards making him less inclined to fight for a way back home too rabidly either— if Jean's not worried, he's not worried.

His short term goals are all about making himself useful. The man lives and breathes acts of services. Specifically the kind that take some physical toll. He doesn't think himself either amazing or magical enough to offer much to those dealing with inter-dimensional shenanigans and nexuses and what have you, but if you need someone to get knocked down a lot, sniff out a body, or be a can opener. Sure. He'll help.

Plot/CR Hooks: Logan's been a bit of a Central City vigilante since his arrival preferring to keep a low profile and try to exist under the radar of the guilds. After teaming up with other Central City metas resulted in a lot of property damage and blood loss, he's been laying low.

When he does get out of the city for the peace and quiet he mostly ends up in Sunset Falls. Since the time he was not so subtly invited to run for mayor they've been pretty good to him there.

Refuge for the Unaligned As tensions mount between guilds and locals and the unaligned metas I'd love to have the old man accidentally start some kind of underground railroad for getting unaligned metas out of the city and into Sunset Falls. He's back and forth a lot anyway, he's staunchly un-guilded and he's just the kind of grumpy bleeding heart who'll take a hitchhiker of they're desperate for a way out — if anyone's interested in this thinking of submitting it as a player plot here shortly.

Memory Bleed In canon this guy just had a massive 12 issue trip down memory lane so all his crappiest memories are fresh and raw. If you'd like to join him at any point in the history of the 20th century i'd love to turn a dreamscape into a little period drama if that's your jam.

Also happy to let the old guy get out of his own head for a while and into someone elses. Watch how unsubtle he is about breaking down doors or whatever even when he's in someone's mind.

Organ Donor related to his Central City mischief, Logan's made a bit of bank on the black market thus far. It's not something he's still doing so much after everything fell out with the D'Amico family, but if you're a medical sciencey type of character I'd love for the consequences of this to haunt him longer.

Playing to Type As always, love to let him play a supporting character to anyone else's drama too— he's great to have around fulfilling all his classic character archetypes. Reluctant father/older-brother figure, partner in crime, ONS, science experiment, magical drifter, hired goon, take your pick!

Hell yes! I love anyone who can see right through his guy. Saves us all a lot of broody macho posturing. He likes to lay low out there every time he causes more trouble in the city than one man rightly should so he's been loafing around the falls for a while now! I haven't jumped into anyone's top levels yet but I'll look out for Ciri's and feel free to get at mine!
