HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to

Central City —
A new confluence is the last thing anyone expected — especially not two within a single week. First in Little Love (the Test Drive Meme), and then in Central City (tomorrow's Arrival log), the oddities of these particular confluences have ground guild activity on both sides to a halt as the metahuman community comes together to solve this mystery.
Ever since the confluence in Little Love, time travellers are reporting that they’re locked in this era - neither magic nor technology appear to be working. Similar reports are pouring in from heroes and villains who hail from alternate universes. All of them appear to be bound to this particular place and time. Seers can no longer see the future spread out before them - things are now chaotic, mutable, constantly shifting and changing.
Metahumans around the world are working to solve this mystery and get the new arrivals home. All the guild members seem (falsely) confident that it won’t be long before they have a breakthrough. Characters are promised that they will be able to go home soon, but in the meantime, are being put up in Central City’s illustrious DIADEM HOTEL.
Lodgings —
The DIADEM HOTEL offers guests the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7.
Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data, and access to the guild networks.
Given the unexpected influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!
Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause.
As the dust settles and rooms fill up, the GUILDS confer. They will determine that they do not have the manpower to handle this if it's going to be an ongoing problem - and the Diadem is going to run out of rooms. But they can use this to their mutual advantage. Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience.
Superzeroes —
The people of Central City are all too familiar with what comes with powers, and some of the locals will be immediately inclined to help, But to others, the new metas' lack of control over their powers makes them a bigger threat than whatever they were trying to stop.
That's right — expect the new metas' surprising powers can go haywire in myriad ways, including property damage and death. Powers may activate unexpectedly, backfire, or similar, even for those who have experience with other kinds of supernatural abilities, even for the well-intentioned heroes among the new arrivals.
The more villainously inclined arrivals may take advantage of the chaos, or of their own new powers, to live out their villainous dreams, making things worse for everyone in the process.
Feel free to develop and use NPCs in your threads!
Please remember to report any major damage your characters directly cause, or incidents that would be noticed by authorities (murders, arson, etc), or things you think other players would take notice of to the PLOTTING post, so we can keep track.
Sticks and Stones—
The upcoming confluence will also have the nasty side-effect of transforming words into spells! It seems to be taking colloquialisms, metaphors, and turns of phrase fairly literally. This effect will last for the rest of the week, so mind your ps and qs!
“A Penny for your thoughts?” for instance, may compel someone to speak their mind if you hand them a coin.
Saying someone is “Strong as an ox” may have them transform temporarily into an ox. “Beat around the bush” may make someone want to start beatboxing around a shrub. Whatever way you want to take it is the right way!
Who Let the Dogs Out?—
Finally, the guardian of the underworld himself is going to be making an appearance. That's right, Cerberus is going to be crashing through Central City. More details will be available at the arrival log, but rest assured three heads are not better than one. You can set up teams to take down each of his heads! We will not be threading this battle out, but we encourage you all to work together to fell the beast.

Getting to Know You
Please use the form below to introduce yourself and start plotting:
Juu
Preferred Communication:
Mina Ashido (My hero Academia)
Guild Affiliation: None for now, since she doesn't want to join a group only to be sent home soon after (Heroes say this is all temporary and she will be home soon, after all). She will eventually join the Alliance once she realizes that's not going to happen so soon.
Plot/CR Hooks:
- Excited pink girl who comes from a world where superpowers and Heroes exist, where heroism is legal and praised! She will be super into this, so if you want AN EXCITED 16 YEAR OLD this is her, this is Mina.
- She is a Hero in training, therefor she will most likely need a more seasoned Hero to teach her more, train with her and show her the ropes. She is 100% fine with working with others.
- And naturally, teenagers and kids are totes cool, too. Mina will need friends her age and people she can hang out with.
- Mina will be going to school as well so that's also a thing! Mina is actually REALLY BAD at normal school subjects and will most likely need help. So much help..
- Of course: ACID! Mina's power is acid and she can do A LOT with it, is extremely versatile and loves to try new stuff, so HEY! Got an idea? Even if it's a really dumb one? Mina is there.
- She will NOT use any way of disguising herself. Mina loves her skin, loves her power, loves to be a Hero, and will not hide any of that. Which might bite her in the ass WE SHALL SEE.
- Mina is an amazing dancer? IDK man, just throwing that in just in case.
Character Motivations:
- To go home )= But!!! That won't happen, so Mina will be joining the Alliance to become an actual hero in this place.
- Finish... school... somehow.
- Protect and help those who need it. This has always been Mina's main motivation.
Potential Roles:
- Excited bubbly airheaded hero in training!
- The Pink one.
Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul)
Guild Affiliation: The Alliance
Plot/CR Hooks:
- Resident cannibal. Kaneki is a (half)ghoul which are human-looking creatures that predate on humans, thus he can only eats humans and somehow he can also eat coffee (but nobody knows why).
- Despite the above, Kaneki is a REALLY GOOD BOY who just wants to live a peaceful and kind life.
- Desperate for friends. I can not stress this enough, kaneki has SO FEW FRIENDS in canon, and here he will be so lost. He is 19, but honestly he can befriend people who are younger or older, despite being awkward he is a very caring person.
- Desperate for mentors, parental figures and found family.
- Joined the Alliance for the perks. Basically, he needs food and the Alliance gives it to him without sounding really shady like a certain Society.
- Knows how to make AMAZINGLY GOOD coffee. But that also means he is an elitist about most other coffee, although he will be polite about it, don't worry.
- He is so so so so so so terrified of his powers/biology. Kaneki will also downright lie about them.
- Loves and adores books, and he will build his own library while here.
Character Motivations:
- Related to above: friends, mentors, parental figure, found family.
- Kaneki will HIDE everything related to his biology and pretend he is not a man-eating person.
- He just wants a normal peaceful life, fam )=
Potential Roles:
- Most likely the investigator. Kaneki is REALLY good at investigating and puzzles and logic and can piece things together with ease.
- Hero although he was forced into the role. Kaneki is a kind person who will help others immediately, however he doesn't want to be Perceived either.
- The shy one, the awkward one, the weird kid who pukes whenever he tries to eat food.
