HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to

Central City —
A new confluence is the last thing anyone expected — especially not two within a single week. First in Little Love (the Test Drive Meme), and then in Central City (tomorrow's Arrival log), the oddities of these particular confluences have ground guild activity on both sides to a halt as the metahuman community comes together to solve this mystery.
Ever since the confluence in Little Love, time travellers are reporting that they’re locked in this era - neither magic nor technology appear to be working. Similar reports are pouring in from heroes and villains who hail from alternate universes. All of them appear to be bound to this particular place and time. Seers can no longer see the future spread out before them - things are now chaotic, mutable, constantly shifting and changing.
Metahumans around the world are working to solve this mystery and get the new arrivals home. All the guild members seem (falsely) confident that it won’t be long before they have a breakthrough. Characters are promised that they will be able to go home soon, but in the meantime, are being put up in Central City’s illustrious DIADEM HOTEL.
Lodgings —
The DIADEM HOTEL offers guests the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7.
Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data, and access to the guild networks.
Given the unexpected influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!
Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause.
As the dust settles and rooms fill up, the GUILDS confer. They will determine that they do not have the manpower to handle this if it's going to be an ongoing problem - and the Diadem is going to run out of rooms. But they can use this to their mutual advantage. Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience.
Superzeroes —
The people of Central City are all too familiar with what comes with powers, and some of the locals will be immediately inclined to help, But to others, the new metas' lack of control over their powers makes them a bigger threat than whatever they were trying to stop.
That's right — expect the new metas' surprising powers can go haywire in myriad ways, including property damage and death. Powers may activate unexpectedly, backfire, or similar, even for those who have experience with other kinds of supernatural abilities, even for the well-intentioned heroes among the new arrivals.
The more villainously inclined arrivals may take advantage of the chaos, or of their own new powers, to live out their villainous dreams, making things worse for everyone in the process.
Feel free to develop and use NPCs in your threads!
Please remember to report any major damage your characters directly cause, or incidents that would be noticed by authorities (murders, arson, etc), or things you think other players would take notice of to the PLOTTING post, so we can keep track.
Sticks and Stones—
The upcoming confluence will also have the nasty side-effect of transforming words into spells! It seems to be taking colloquialisms, metaphors, and turns of phrase fairly literally. This effect will last for the rest of the week, so mind your ps and qs!
“A Penny for your thoughts?” for instance, may compel someone to speak their mind if you hand them a coin.
Saying someone is “Strong as an ox” may have them transform temporarily into an ox. “Beat around the bush” may make someone want to start beatboxing around a shrub. Whatever way you want to take it is the right way!
Who Let the Dogs Out?—
Finally, the guardian of the underworld himself is going to be making an appearance. That's right, Cerberus is going to be crashing through Central City. More details will be available at the arrival log, but rest assured three heads are not better than one. You can set up teams to take down each of his heads! We will not be threading this battle out, but we encourage you all to work together to fell the beast.

Getting to Know You
Please use the form below to introduce yourself and start plotting:
sasuke uchiha | naruto
Guild Affiliation: He's probably going unaffiliated which I promise is a character choice and not me being a wishy washy fence-straddler. He walks a lonely road, the only one that he has ever known, etc etc. Since Naruto is almost inevitably going to join the 'good guys' there's a chance Sasuke could be dragged there as well... but he might join the villain's league out of sheer spite, too. (or stay unaffiliated!! Wild!!)
Plot/CR Hooks: Sasuke is coming in at a very difficult canonpoint for him (aka: having just had the Showdown Fight with his brother that resulted in his death). He's going to be very lost, angry, despondent and moody af. He's accomplished his 'vengeance' but is going to find that it's very personally unfulfilling and has no idea what to do next since he literally never thought that far ahead. He's probably going to be lashing out at people, but I'm honestly not 100 percent sure how he'll react in any one given situation because of his extreme volatility at the moment.
Character Motivations: Nothing!! He accomplished his Big Life Goal and now has NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT'S NEXT. He's literally a blank slate. Piecing together what he 'might' want is going to take a lot of time and energy and whew boy do I understand if people aren't up for that sort of IC emotional labor. Sasuke is a very quiet, intense loner who has a tendency to either protect people with his life or exercise a complete willingness to sacrifice them for his goals so literally, a roulette wheel. He's slightly less likely to be actively hostile to women, but only if they don't fawn over him. Please Do Not Perceive Him As An Attractive Object.
Potential Roles: Sasuke is the deuteragonist (and occasional antagonist) of Naruto. He's the contrast to the title character and reflects the 'darkness' of the series. Sasuke is a character who experiences such a vast depth of emotion that when he experiences love or affection followed by loss, he goes completely batshit unhinged in the aftermath.
If y'all can handle kuudere stereotypes he's ya man I guess? He's not really in a position mentally where he can express loyalty to others right at arrival, but people who are warm and compassionate and don't take his outbursts personally will win him over eventually, and once he cares for someone he will literally kill himself to protect them when he's not trying to prove to them that their feelings are stupid and irrelevant and that they don't actually care as much about him as they think they do and therefore they should leave him alone to wallow in misery and grief heyoooo
He will not be attending school (seriously, good luck making him) and will probably just lurk in the shadows like a big ol' nerd. He's well suited to very violent solo vigilantism and will probably slide in that direction.
He is also highly unlikely to care about secret identities because he's an internationally known S-Rank criminal in his world and he doesn't give a toss. Edgy teenager with more power than sense, thy name is...
I'm mostly here for Rooftop Encounters, accidental team-ups, moments where Sasuke has to protect others (which will probably be done by instinct rather than with any actual deliberate action) and for people who won't take his pissy emo teen act personally. I PROMISE I'LL TRY TO MAKE THE CR PAYOFF WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN but bear with me because the first leg of his development is going to be rough, full of him hanging up on people, walking away from conversations and generally being a prick. He is very traumatized and poorly socialized like an angry feral cat.
I'm playing on hard mode, come @ me.
