HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to

Central City —
A new confluence is the last thing anyone expected — especially not two within a single week. First in Little Love (the Test Drive Meme), and then in Central City (tomorrow's Arrival log), the oddities of these particular confluences have ground guild activity on both sides to a halt as the metahuman community comes together to solve this mystery.
Ever since the confluence in Little Love, time travellers are reporting that they’re locked in this era - neither magic nor technology appear to be working. Similar reports are pouring in from heroes and villains who hail from alternate universes. All of them appear to be bound to this particular place and time. Seers can no longer see the future spread out before them - things are now chaotic, mutable, constantly shifting and changing.
Metahumans around the world are working to solve this mystery and get the new arrivals home. All the guild members seem (falsely) confident that it won’t be long before they have a breakthrough. Characters are promised that they will be able to go home soon, but in the meantime, are being put up in Central City’s illustrious DIADEM HOTEL.
Lodgings —
The DIADEM HOTEL offers guests the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7.
Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data, and access to the guild networks.
Given the unexpected influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!
Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause.
As the dust settles and rooms fill up, the GUILDS confer. They will determine that they do not have the manpower to handle this if it's going to be an ongoing problem - and the Diadem is going to run out of rooms. But they can use this to their mutual advantage. Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience.
Superzeroes —
The people of Central City are all too familiar with what comes with powers, and some of the locals will be immediately inclined to help, But to others, the new metas' lack of control over their powers makes them a bigger threat than whatever they were trying to stop.
That's right — expect the new metas' surprising powers can go haywire in myriad ways, including property damage and death. Powers may activate unexpectedly, backfire, or similar, even for those who have experience with other kinds of supernatural abilities, even for the well-intentioned heroes among the new arrivals.
The more villainously inclined arrivals may take advantage of the chaos, or of their own new powers, to live out their villainous dreams, making things worse for everyone in the process.
Feel free to develop and use NPCs in your threads!
Please remember to report any major damage your characters directly cause, or incidents that would be noticed by authorities (murders, arson, etc), or things you think other players would take notice of to the PLOTTING post, so we can keep track.
Sticks and Stones—
The upcoming confluence will also have the nasty side-effect of transforming words into spells! It seems to be taking colloquialisms, metaphors, and turns of phrase fairly literally. This effect will last for the rest of the week, so mind your ps and qs!
“A Penny for your thoughts?” for instance, may compel someone to speak their mind if you hand them a coin.
Saying someone is “Strong as an ox” may have them transform temporarily into an ox. “Beat around the bush” may make someone want to start beatboxing around a shrub. Whatever way you want to take it is the right way!
Who Let the Dogs Out?—
Finally, the guardian of the underworld himself is going to be making an appearance. That's right, Cerberus is going to be crashing through Central City. More details will be available at the arrival log, but rest assured three heads are not better than one. You can set up teams to take down each of his heads! We will not be threading this battle out, but we encourage you all to work together to fell the beast.

Getting to Know You
Please use the form below to introduce yourself and start plotting:
Allison Hargreeves | The Umbrella Academy | CRAU/Post-S2
Guild Affiliation: Unaligned for now. Allison wasn't all that jazzed to sign-up for another world's team last time, and she probably won't here either at first, even though she knows Luther probably will rather quickly. Because. Well. That's Luther (and Luther's baggage).
Plot/CR Hooks: Allison is getting used to being back in a modern world, again, after spending two years living in the Sixties during the birth of the Civil Rights Movement. She's still going to be deal with some of the shadows, habits, and assumptions she got used to there for her survival.
Character Motivations: Allison's biggest endstop motivation (both on the daily and in the long term) will always be, bar none, to get out of the multiverse, her own world's past, and back to her daughter. To make sure she's safe and they've stopped the end of the world from having killed her two years ago.
Short-term goals will likely consist of getting another job and another house. Making sure whomever of her family has been dragged to this world is safe & collecting them into close proximity again. (Also, maybe get herself a therapist again? Though, ggggooddd, she'll have to work back up to that after Dallas & Ray.)
Under emotional needs -- This girl needs some FRIENDS FOR SRS. Especially people who are willing to put in the hard work of realizing it won't be easy, and that won't be utterly terrified off when they realize she can change reality. In her last game, this was a non-starter for most of the year and a half when she couldn't talk, but since she regained her voice, she'd been making strides to try and open up a little bit to certain people.
Potential Roles: Allison is the person in The Hargreeves who has made some of the biggest mistakes (in multiple places in her history) and recognizes most that you can break the cycle of abuse behind you. That you can't keep blaming the same boogie man a decade later if he wasn't there during it, and you're just scapegoating your refusal to grow or make adult choices in that time.
Her moral compass can be a little twisty, at times, depending on her needs and her willingness to blindly ignore what she's doing wrong in the face of her own desperation. She's more vigilante-hero than the straightforward super-hero she was in her childhood. She'll deal with problems if they come running at her and her family or burst into her house, but she doesn't seek out being a hero.
All that said, Allison is incredibly ruthless and willing to kill the people who attack her and to use her powers to have them kill each other or themselves.
In recent canon/gameplay, Allison has also been taking the very slowest of steps back into using her powers, both for good and the terrible results. She's rightfully terrified if she becomes reliant on it again, she'll slip like an addict and go back to using it indiscriminately against anything inconvenient in her life, making everything in her life not real again (and destroying anything that might even be a shadow toward real currently). But, she's also very, very slowly trying to piece together a way to use this part of her for good, too, when not just as self-defense.

Plus. >_> Given the comics up to current, too, there's a likelihood Allison really never does get back to Claire. (Unless things drastically change in the next comic volumes.)
She might not be a perfect role model by any comparison (especially to my other girl), but she's the best out of her family. And honestly, it might be super good for Allison to have to grow in this direction, too.
Also. Just picture it with me. Epic mall shopping trips, too.
