metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for your initial arrival! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.

The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.

The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.
ARRIVAL - LITTLE LOVE
This month, new arrivals will find themselves descending amid an already dizzying flurry of white. A supernatural blizzard has hit the little town of Little Love, Kansas, driving the residents inside and covering everything around in feet of snow. The storm came on suddenly and without warning, so residents are frantically working to get everyone inside, including their farm animals, and batten down the hatches of their barns and farmhouses for a whiteout.
Upon hitting the ground, chances are that new arrivals will find themselves lost out in the cold. It's freezing enough to be very dangerous, unless you happen to have some sort of superhuman resistance. A lot of buildings have also lost power, but luckily quite a few of the folks out here have generators and are keeping their lights burning - a few houses even have Christmas lights still on outside! Hopefully you can catch sight of some of these safe havens and make your way in that direction. If you can make it to a home, or even a store where a bunch of others might be stranded, you'll be welcomed inside.
Of course, the new arrivals aren't the only ones caught off-guard. A lot of the locals are in need of aid too. Many buildings have lost power, both residences and public places, and the people stranded there are now desperately trying to keep warm. There's also a lot of folks still stuck outside - some trapped in cars that are quickly vanishing under snowdrifts, some who were out walking or riding bikes completely unprepared to meet with this kind of weather, and of course plenty of horses and cows who need to be rounded up and brought to safety!
After a while, emergency Guild responders will arrive to Little Love. If players so choose, they can handwave their characters eventually being picked up and brought to the DIADEM HOTEL.

LODGINGS —
Once the Guardian Alliance arrives in Little Love to offer new arrivals an explanation and transport back to CENTRAL CITY, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!
Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Guild Affiliation: unsure att! he's gonna talk to family and friends/folks from home and do some investigating before he makes a decision.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: he's.. superman... so he's gonna be doing the superman thing, probably, helping out across the world as much as he can.
Plot/CR Hooks: jon is coming from roughly current canon, so his identity is just out there, which is probably something he's gonna have to talk to people about, too, since this.. isn't home. i'm kinda just vibing, let's see what happens, etc.
he'll obvs be helping out during the arrival blizzard, so feel free to encounter him during that. he sort of stands out, since he'll be arriving in the superman suit.

If Jon starts hanging around with Dylan, he may bump into Nico as well. Which I would find hilarious because Nico is not a ball of sunshine and yet they keep finding him.

Character Name & Journal: Tsubomi Hanasaki
Guild Affiliation: Right now, Tsubomi is going to go unaffiliated. She might follow Erika if/when she makes a decision because even though she's the leader of her team, that's a big decision.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Tsubomi's entire character is basically growing up and moving away from being the terrible bag of nerves she is, desiring to be something more. She's in a new world where there's more than just evil monsters and people to purify, so she's going to be doing a LOT of adjusting here.
Plot/CR Hooks: Oooh, boy. Tsubomi is a hero through and through, but she has no idea the entire scope she's going to be flung into

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Airplane is gonna eventually be trying to learn about the confluence because he'll want to be able to back home eventually but he's also going to enjoy being in a modern world again. Hot showers! Tap water! Instant ramen! Modern music!
Plot/CR Hooks: Airplane is an excellent lackey and will very much be looking for someone or someones strong to hide behind and protect him I'm case things go bad. He'll also be taking full advantage of whatever anyone gives for free. For now though I'm thinking I'll throw him at stuff and see what sticks. He'll be useful in the blizzard since he's all but immune to cold sland it's a great way for him to learn about his new powers and quietly freak out about them. Anyone there or after at the Diadem can easily run into him.

Guild Affiliation: Probably going unaffiliated for now! He is however, a poor starving artist so he might break for that sweet cash, but he also might not because he's not a government stooge so. Let's see!
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: My goal is for Kyle to explore his own identity. The Green Lantern Corps is (more or less) up and running again and they don't really need him. While he is still the Torchbearer, what does that mean for him? Who does he want to be? Plus, he recently gave up god-like power as Ion so he's also figuring that whole nonsense out. Plus, uh, relationship issues since all his girlfriends are dead. More or less.
Plot/CR Hooks:
Weeb: Kyle is a huge nerd. He likes comics, anime/manga, musicals . . . you name it, he probably has a
hugepassing interest in it. And he likes that in others! Let's form an old school anime club, he's from the 90s ok.Aliens/Unusual Lifeforms: Kyle's job is a space cop, but he really kind of serves as a space peace keeper and thus, he's always working on improving his social skills, connecting with other life forms, building bridges etc. So he'd want to hear what you're all about, if you're willing!
Bros: His usual bros, Wally and Connor are not present, please fill out in one sentence why you're an acceptable bro.
Art: Kyle is an artist! He's done comics, worked commercially, etc. So he's happy to be a mentor to any budding artists out there.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: see above re: investigation. what she wants is to go home to her family, so she's going to be very motivated to dig into the guilds and the confluence in the hopes that she'll be able to find out more. she'll likely also want to use this whole experience to her advantage by learning as much as possible about alternate universes, since that seems to be a recurring problem for them back home.
in terms of emotional nonsense, she's very much lacking her usual support system and is going to need to make friends so she's not lonely and sad all the time :(
Plot/CR Hooks: if anyone needs help poking into things they shouldn't poke into, lois is your lady. or if someone wants to help a gal out when she inevitably gets in over her head and can't rely on smooth talking and a taser to get herself out of a sticky situation
anyone who needs a parental figure or just a good role model is also welcome to apply, lois is a good egg (mostly) and will gather people under her metaphorical wing

Character Name & Journal: Lana Baumgartner aka Bombshell,
Guild Affiliation: Lana is coming fresh off of being brainwashed in a "re-education center" by a government task force seeking to force teen heroes to either give up the cape or register with one of their approved programs. So let's just say she'll be a little hesitant to just join up with a guild straight away.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Like I said, she's fresh off a pretty traumatic experience, so she wants to get her feet back under her and build up her confidence again as a hero. That's a longer term goal, though. Short term, she just wants to find a therapist and get settled into this new weird as shit world.
Plot/CR Hooks: Would love CR with: other teen/young heroes, other reformed villains, people who like swearing and blowing shit up, people who might try to stop her from swearing and blowing shit up!

Huvrye Tirvio | Broken

Character Name & Journal: Huvrye Tirvio
Guild Affiliation: Unaffiliated, and not about to make a choice until he can find someone he can trust and hear what they have to say about things.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Huvrye has absolutely no idea what he's doing here and honestly I think that's great. He's got a blank slate, relative anonymity, and is in a place where people are more likely to treat him as a person instead of government property, and I want to see where we can actually go with that. Also, most everything in this world is alien to him, including humans (where are your wings? what do you mean you don't have aura?), so the fish out of water aspect is also a fun one.
That said, Huvrye craves connection when he doesn't have it, so he's going to need to find some friends he can trust at some point. He's kind of miserable alone.
Plot/CR Hooks: That fish out of water aspect is gonna be real fun for the first while :D Huvrye has some idea of how civilians live, but he's never had a civilian life, so this is all extremely new to him, as is being someplace where his reputation does not precede him. How exactly does one do a civilian life? Please explain to him how these fast food establishments differ. And what magic is. And why no one has wings? He's quick on the uptake, but when everything is unfamiliar, it's still going to take some time.
Also, social media and the internet don't exist in his world, so please teach this man to social media. He's the kind of guy who doesn't read the instruction manual for anything, so I'm here for various levels of success or disaster.
On a more intrinsic to his person note, Huvrye is the kind of person who needs connections, and is very protective and distressingly self-sacrificing when he has them, so like. He needs friends. He will protect younger characters (even if/though they don't need it). Please give this guy someone to bond with, because he does not do well alone.
(Also, for people I TDMed with, I'm up for keeping those threads canon if you are :D)
Important note: Huvrye's canon deals with a lot of heavy subject matter, and he's kind of steeped in the worst of it. To that end, I have an opt out post here with a list of subjects, and I will not be at all offended if anyone doesn't want to thread with him. Anywhere where it comes up will have the appropriate CWs labeled.
Thaddeus Thawne II | DC Comics
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Thaddeus "Thad" Thawne II
Guild Affiliation: Unaffiliated. He'll be way too paranoid of the guilds to sign up.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Thad is a clone who was created for a single purpose, and he's never really been allowed to want anything outside of that. So he doesn't really know what he wants, what to do with himself, or who he is devoid of that purpose. Right now, the only goal he has available to him is figuring that out, and honestly, he's not sure if he wants to.
Plot/CR Hooks: Since doing the whole hero thing was something Thad genuinely enjoyed during the time he spent imitating his genetic original, and it's something to give him some semblance of purpose again, he'll be out helping people; with the snow and/or fighting crime.
He'll also be out looking for jobs, since he doesn't want to rely on the guilds but would also like to avoid being homeless after his two months are up. I'm also up for having him find out he's been roomed with another newcomer. So if anyone is interested in having their character forced to suffer a persnickety, unsocialized, feral teen, hit me up for that.
Thad is also a clone of Bart Allen (Kid Flash), and aside from his younger age and blond hair, it's very obvious. So feel free to have characters recognize him, or pick up on the fact that they're, at the very least, related.

Eliot Spencer | Leverage

Guild Affiliation: Unaffiliated.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Someone give this man people/things to look after. The caretaker instinct is strong and if he doesn't something to focus it on he will start destroying his enclosure. Also violence. He also needs to be able to commit acts of violence or he will start destroying his enclosure.
Plot/CR Hooks:Eliot is a deeply paranoid person who struggles to not get involved. If he runs into anything suspicious he will probably investigate. If someone's getting hurt or being taken advantage of, chances are he'll intervene. Also, despite being a huge grump, he has a big ol' soft spot for kids. He'll give them good food, show them how to throw a punch, and teach them to commit crimes. Very wholesome!

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: julian is an x-man(sometimes) who's coming from a canon point where he's not actually dead/dying/in a coma/in the middle of an apocalypse, so he won't be shaken up much at all. he will be pissed about being dislodged from his side of the multiverse--but as far as being shoved through dimensions goes, this one isn't terrible.
oocly: i'm just going with the flow.
Plot/CR Hooks: he plays the role of a bullyjock pretty effectively, and julian does not care for (most) non-mutants. superiority mixed with a significant amount of time being hated, plus all the friends that were murdered and all the attempts to murder him due to them being mutants. he'll likely be a dick to most people when he first meets them, which may just continue for forever. he's great for antagonistic cr.
but he does also have a soft side buried under all the petty asshole crap and finding people he relates to and grows to think of as his own will eventually lead to him being very ride-or-die with them. even if he'll probably still bully them. just a little more gently. maybe.
when the blizzard hits, julian will lend a hand where he can--shoving people inside, covering broken windows, whatever looks like it needs to be done--even if it's cold as fuck and he doesn't have any resistance to it. i'm down to threading rescues! either julian lending a hand to someone who needs it, or someone eventually going: why are you out here freezing in the middle of nowhere, you loser, get inside.
and i'm open for whatever else outside of the storm!
