OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for your initial arrival! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.

You are free to post your intro after reading this post! We will not be posting a log for this.

The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.

ARRIVAL - LITTLE LOVE

It’s been a year since the first confluence rocked Little Love, and so it’s no surprise that once again the sky opens and people begin to plummet towards the ground. If you are one of the lucky few tumbling towards the frozen earth - don’t worry! After a year of these, the Guilds have it pretty well in hand. The mages throw up their hands and catch you in a barrier, gently lowering you down to the ground.

Little Love isn’t much to look at. It’s barely a dot on the map. A cow moos balefully and fixes you with its soulful gaze. Someone sneezes. Another person offers you a jacket, while someone else tries to gently discourage anyone from screaming and panicking. You’ve been whisked away to another world, one where superpowers are very real - and yes, you have them. Please be very careful and do not try to activate them until you are in a safe space.

Some among you might not listen, too eager to test out your new powers. Others maybe find their powers suddenly activating at the rush of emotion that comes with being told that you have strange new abilities. The second that happens, you’re thrown headfirst through a portal into a large white receiving room. There are pamphlets labeled WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE DIMENSIONALLY DISPLACED and BEING ONE OF THE SKYFALLEN: WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Evidently, they’ve gotten sick of calling everyone “those people from away” and gone with the popular public nickname.

There are heroes and villains in this neutral space, and each will offer you their own pitch. But once you’ve gotten the rundown, you’re allowed to go free.

If players so choose, they can handwave their characters escaping from the crowd to explore Little Love on their own. If they so choose, they can later be be picked up and brought to the DIADEM HOTEL.

LODGINGS —

Once the Guardian Alliance arrives in Little Love to offer new arrivals an explanation and transport back to CENTRAL CITY, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!

Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.

Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

I'll give you a quick, snappy rundown! No spoilers edition.

Eda is infamously known as the Owl Lady. She's a wanted criminal who has been living a sizeable chunk of her life on the run, secluded away from others. One of her notable crimes is refusal to join a coven, which involves letting them seal off most of her magic. She's been getting by with making potions for a customer base and by stealing stuff from the human realm to sell to those in the demon realm.

They're two totally different places, so none of them know what any of this human stuff actually is. Makes for a great sell!

She meets a human Luz who desperately wants to be a witch (even though she's just a human, since witches are inhuman in this canon) and becomes her sorry excuse of a mentor. Then her second mother. Luz basically kicked her out of stasis and forced her to start living her life and now Eda has been striving to be a better person for Luz.

Well, there's something to bond over! Quick snappy rundown of Six and his hellworld with minimal spoilers.

Five years before the present, a bunch of scientists started messing around with nanites that could alter DNA. The idea was to create these little guys to cure diseases in all forms of living things, not just people. Unfortunately, there was an accident, and the unfinished nanites were unleashed in a massive explosion, infecting every living thing on Earth in days if not hours. For the most part, they stay pretty chill, but when they activate, they can mutate their host in the worst game of mutation roulette imaginable, so everyone is walking around with a ticking timebomb in the back of their minds.

Six was a mercenary assassin prior to the Nanite Event but joined up with Providence which was looking for some sort of solution to the problem. Eventually, he found Rex, an amnesiac kid who had the ability to cure EVOs though not all of them. Six became his trainer and mentor, basically working to become a better man for the kid's benefit.

Hell yeah, they can bond over shared experiences. And missing their kid being around. Whose messes are they going to clean up?

Also she would find Six's homeworld to be super fascinating.

LOL Six imagines it would be...if he wasn't from it. Even now he goes in for monthly checkups to keep an eye on his nanites in hopes someone in this weird world can come up with a cure he can take back to his world.

He won't "go EVO" (as mutating is called in his world) and can't spread the nanite infection here, but he doesn't know the former part. Latter part, kinda obvious when you can't even get them in a standard blood sample.
