OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for your initial arrival! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.

You are free to post your intro after reading this post! We will not be posting a log for this.

The GUILDS have begun employing safety measures to prevent new arrivals from destroying the cities they land in. As seen on the last TEST DRIVE MEME, the cities have set up ways to intercept the new arrivals and bring them to headquarters as quickly as possible.

ARRIVAL - LITTLE LOVE

It’s been a year since the first confluence rocked Little Love, and so it’s no surprise that once again the sky opens and people begin to plummet towards the ground. If you are one of the lucky few tumbling towards the frozen earth - don’t worry! After a year of these, the Guilds have it pretty well in hand. The mages throw up their hands and catch you in a barrier, gently lowering you down to the ground.

Little Love isn’t much to look at. It’s barely a dot on the map. A cow moos balefully and fixes you with its soulful gaze. Someone sneezes. Another person offers you a jacket, while someone else tries to gently discourage anyone from screaming and panicking. You’ve been whisked away to another world, one where superpowers are very real - and yes, you have them. Please be very careful and do not try to activate them until you are in a safe space.

Some among you might not listen, too eager to test out your new powers. Others maybe find their powers suddenly activating at the rush of emotion that comes with being told that you have strange new abilities. The second that happens, you’re thrown headfirst through a portal into a large white receiving room. There are pamphlets labeled WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE DIMENSIONALLY DISPLACED and BEING ONE OF THE SKYFALLEN: WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Evidently, they’ve gotten sick of calling everyone “those people from away” and gone with the popular public nickname.

There are heroes and villains in this neutral space, and each will offer you their own pitch. But once you’ve gotten the rundown, you’re allowed to go free.

If players so choose, they can handwave their characters escaping from the crowd to explore Little Love on their own. If they so choose, they can later be be picked up and brought to the DIADEM HOTEL.

LODGINGS —

Once the Guardian Alliance arrives in Little Love to offer new arrivals an explanation and transport back to CENTRAL CITY, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!

Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.

Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

Guild Affiliation: Leo will be unaffiliated at first (he's gone his whole life undocumented, why start now?) but could potentially be swayed to Alliance if people try hard enough (or maybe even Society, who knows)
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Leo is coming here fresh off the most traumatizing experience of his life, but it's cool, he's cool and everything is fine! His powers are on the fritz because he lost one of the katana that are a literal piece of his soul, which is probably the first thing he will want to address, the problem is that last time they manifested from a huge surge of love and trust in his family and it's kind of hard to recreate that in a place where you don't know anyone. So for now he's just dealing with trying to get that shit under control along with all the normal jamjar nonsense.
Anyway his ultimate motivation will be getting home, because his family thinks he's dead and he should really get back before they start selling his stuff on ebay. But he's enough of a hero now thanks to Character Development that he'll help with other stuff too.
Plot/CR Hooks:
Other Teenagers: Leo currently knows like 4 people in his age group that he isn't blood related to and one of them is his adopted son from another timeline so his social circle is more like a social dot. He's pretty outgoing though and would love to make friends! He's super annoying but if he likes you he'll commit crimes for you so it's worth it (probably).
Help with Training: Leo was supposed to be trained from birth to fight great evils but his dad got super lazy about it and didn't really get on that until the world was a few days from ending. Leo has had more training now but still not a lot, so having people who can help him with swordplay, physical fitness, general leader-ing, etc would all be appreciated! (Oh yeah also his superpower is portals/teleportation so help with that is good too.) Just a warning though that he thrives on validation and if your character gives him any he'll stick to them like a barnacle. Something to keep in mind!
Nerds: Leo loves comics and sci-fi b-movies and kung fu films and anything else with a nerd flavor. He'd probably get into anime too if someone showed it to him. He will absolutely go to conventions, they're one of his favorite things.
Nonhumans: Oh yeah did I mention he's a turtle?

Hi Leo, meet Dylan Brock! He is 2/3 human, 1/3 goopy alien (his dad is Venom) and he totally gets the really complicated parentage that Leo has going on with that intensely hyphenated last name.

He just turned 15, and he is Down For Shenanigans. Perhaps also some petty crime.

I think these two would probably be good training buddies. He also typically uses two swords, and he's used to superpowered teenagers. (He dealt with Rex, after all.) He'll probably chalk up Leo as some version of EVO or whatever the equivalent is in Leo's world.

Guild Affiliation: Unaligned. Bitterly, stubbornly, permanently. Guilds aren't really her thing. Actually, it's been a pretty important aspect of her past that she's refused to align herself with any covens guilds and allow them to govern her.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:
Hello and welcome to the disorientation period. Eda is a fresh new arrival and she isn't going to take it very well. At all. Even a little bit. After all, she had been in the middle of something pretty important. Something that hinged around her presence. It's not a surprise that she's going to blow up over it. It's fine, it's fine, it's fine. She'll calm down. Eventually.

After that eventually, one of the biggest issues she'll face is acclimation. Eda isn't as equipped as she says she is for living in the human world. She's used to only being a very brief visitor in the human realm, never actually living there. She mostly just liked to steal from humans, take a guess at what the object she stole actually does, and then scam strangers by selling it off to them.

Anything more than that is a little ehhhh. So, trying to adjust is going to be one of her initial main focuses.

Plus, of course, throwing her right into the thick of things!

Plot/CR Hooks:

Anyone ever think about starting up a little side business? No? Well, Eda could benefit from anyone who might be willing to help teach her the ways of the humans and how to better pass as one. Side business optional.

Huvrye hits two of the four plot hooks, as he's very obviously not human (he can hide the ears, but that twelve-foot wingspan is Something Else) and he and Hunter have fun weird Same Color Palette Homunculus CR. He would also take a bullet for Hunter. It's fine.

Huvrye has also come from a Very Not Human World, and has only been here a month, so he's still getting used to the place, but he can recommend a good coffee place and/or a good bar?

HI KIMMEH. Like I mentioned before, I definitely want Jason and Eda to know each other because of their mutual connection with Hunter. Recently Jason had to help him get to a clinic after he got shot and was also trying to keep an eye on two of Hunter's other friends. Help. Being a responsible adult is hard.

Oh and I'm planning to deage him this week so! Fun times.

Oh good, someone as dead-set on remaining unaligned as he is. Even if it's not for exactly the same reasons. But this is someone so committed to the concept that when one of the guilds was opening membership to everyone for their own safety he was still on team Fuck That Noise and refused to go along.

Nox is the resident Angry Space Wizard, and while he's technically still human (probably? There was a lot of experimental genetic fuckery going on and now he'll outlive just about everyone), he's probably not going to be of much use on the How To Be Human front. Both because he's from a place with a much different tech level than even this version of Earth, and because he's Sith which means he's probably going to be asked "why are you like this" a little too often to be a reliable source. But he'd share what he could if she's willing to offer other knowledge in exchange.

Not even like, forbidden world-destroying stuff, he's a gigantic nerd and would literally be content to learn about wherever she came from / more about how magic works in her universe. Since Sith Sorcery is proving to work differently than every other kind of magic he's encountered so far, and learning all the differences is something of a hobby at this point.

Of course, with Eda showing up this means he's also not the only person with company living inside his head / sharing a body, though instead of a feral owl beastie he's got five angry ghosts that did their best to kill him and/or drive him insane. Because he was fucking around with ancient Sith rituals and forgot that you should never, under any circumstances, trust dead Sith lords.

Guild Affiliation: Currently unaffiliated, but she could be swayed to any side, honestly!
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Sakura is fresh. Very fresh. I’m talking post-Land of Waves Arc. The girl is still hanging on to Naruto’s strength and Sasuke’s… everything. She has nothing to work for and no real path to follow. So, she’s gonna be completely lost.

It’ll take a while for Sakura to realize she’s going at it alone and she’ll need to figure out how to get stronger. And actually fight.

What she doesn’t realize is that her “Inner Sakura”, the usual inner thoughts over something, has now become her super power. She has the skills, power and confidence to fight back. Sakura won’t realize this at first. Think of it like Mr. Fixit/Gray Hulk.
Plot/CR Hooks:

* Other Kids/Teens: Sakura’s 12/13, so she could certainly use friends her age or close to it. She might be a little too sweet to some, though.

* People to dope slap her: Since she has little to no combat ability as herself, Sakura’s gonna be acting as a D.I.D. sometimes if she gets overpowered easily. She’ll need someone to drop reality on her.

* Trainers: She’s gonna need combat help, so that’s a thing. She might be able to show off how to use chakra and teach everyone (if possible)

Six would work as a trainer, I think. Even more convenient, he's stationed out in Little Love, so it could even be she lands in his backyard.

He doesn't have any powers (not even from the Confluences). Just years and years of training to do crazy things that would make people giving that "seems sus" squint in regards to his "powers-free". We're talking "this guy can deflect bullets and be able to aim them in the process with a katana" kind of garbage. And don't get me started on hand-to-hand combat.

And I always feel morally-obligated to link this video whenever people call "BS" on me and will probably serve as a good audition tape LOL.

Guild Affiliation: She's gonna take the hard path - after time with CADMUS in her own universe, neither really follows for her. At least, right now.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: For those unfamiliar, Galatea is an aged-up clone of Supergirl from the DCAU. She was created by CADMUS as a weapon to take on the Justice League, as a near-equivalent to Superman.

She's coming to Meta fresh off of her last defeat, which otherwise would have left her critically injured and comatose. She is, for the first time, not under anybody's control, and so she's at a crossroads as a sort of quasi-blank slate. She could easily be pushed into villainy, owing to the chip(s) on her shoulder about being an 'artificial' being and rejecting the 'goody two-shoes' way the Justice League operated. At the same time, she's never had friends and has clutched at whatever moments of authenticity she gets, which could push her the other way.

It'll be fun to see which wins out, I guess! Looking forward to meeting all of you! :)

I love plots of all varieties, cross-canon is love, so I'll be up for pretty much everything!

Hello again! I hadn't thought about Jason and Galatea as CR until the TDM so I'm down to continue it and see where it goes. They can be good (or bad?) influences to each other. Jason's doing his Red Hood thing as a gang leader and is also a bar owner.

Do you want our TDM thread to be in-game canon or start fresh? I'm fine with either option!

Also, I just temporary deaged Jason to when he was Robin so she might run into a tiny sidekick.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Danny is a telekinetic kid raised by spies, who's been in and out of the hero game. He's dropping in not too long after his mentor/pseudo-parental figure snapped, and tried to destroy New York and murder him with a bomb. And he's mostly trying to avoid thinking about how that makes him feel, but one thing is for sure, it definitely hasn't helped his paranoia any.

He'll be joining the Alliance as soon as they pitch their recruitment at him. Specifically, because he trusts them about as far as he can kick them, and he'll think the best way to keep an eye on the Guild is from inside it. But he's likely going to either downplay his telekinesis or try and mask it as some other kind of power. Because the less they know about what he's capable of, the better.

Plot/CR Hooks:

But for the most part, Danny hasn't had much opportunity to be around kids his own age and I would like to rectify that. Under all his "I was a teenage spy and I've seen some shit"-ness he's really just a goofy little nerd who loves comics, video games, and B Horror schlock. And he just really needs some people he's actually allowed to unwind with and be a kid around, instead of constantly having to work to act like he's just as mature and capable as the adults in his life needed/expected him to be.
