OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for our arrival event! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in:


Excelsior City —

New characters will arrive in a terrible storm that seizes Excelsior City and kills the power in Silicon Valley in the midst of old characters' tour of their potential housing locations.

During the arrival log, characters will be faced with vloggers-turned-supervillains who can alter time. This may mean characters who actually appeared on the original test drive meme are suddenly yeeted forward into the Excelsior City Confluence, allowing people to keep their TDM threads AND just now arrive into the game as they were yanked out of their original arrival.

These vloggers can be killed. The Guardian Alliance would rather apprehend them and hold them accountable for their crimes, but the Society of Villainous Reformation will put out a kill order for making them look bad.


Lodgings —
Once the Guardian Alliance arrives on the scene in Excelsior and controls the situation, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the unexpected influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!

Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and access to the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.

As the dust settles and rooms fill up, the GUILDS confer. The Guilds are aware that they do not have the manpower to handle this ongoing problem of Confluence arrivals - and the Diadem is going to run out of rooms. To this end, player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Note: characters who have been in the game for two months will reach their deadline to decide! Two months of living off the Guilds' dime is coming to a close for some of the oldest characters, and decisions should be made in March.


Superzeroes —
The people of Excelsior City are all too familiar with what comes with powers, and some of the locals will be immediately inclined to help, But to others, the new metas' lack of control over their powers makes them a bigger threat than whatever they were trying to stop.

That's right — expect the new metas' surprising powers can go haywire in myriad ways, including property damage and death. Powers may activate unexpectedly, backfire, or similar, even for those who have experience with other kinds of supernatural abilities, even for the well-intentioned heroes among the new arrivals.

The more villainously inclined arrivals may take advantage of the chaos, or of their own new powers, to live out their villainous dreams, making things worse for everyone in the process.

Feel free to develop and use NPCs in your threads!

Please remember to report any major damage your characters directly cause, or incidents that would be noticed by authorities (murders, arson, etc), or things you think other players would take notice of to the newly redesigned PLOTTING post, so we can keep track.

Disney's Haunted Mansion —

The upcoming March event will offer a chance for some reality-shifting horror in a cursed house, so you can start thinking about if you'd like your character to be a victim of the house or a heroic rescuer.

tony is crau'd from meadowlark. you can find all of his info here and his inbox here.

long story short, he is arriving at a pretty rough point. he not only recently (and very involuntarily) fell off of the wagon but also died a pretty traumatizing death. he is working out his issues by not working out his issues and is instead now focusing all of his attention on other shit. he will be joining the GA immediately in exchange for housing since he doesn't want to live at the diadem. he will also be looking into starting a nonprofit business (and possibly a for profit one to fund it). i'm going to be exploring how he's going to be handling (or, rather, not handling) his accumulation of issues because they're fast approaching a peak and he is inevitably headed right over it.

it most likely won't be fun times for him for a while, but it's an arc i've been wanting to play out. ideally, he will be able to pick himself back up and maybe even lay some of his mountains of issues to rest (or at least move past them).

his main point of interest will be solving the great confluence riddle, so that will be a consistent long-term objective.

Plot/CR Hooks:

i'm open to handwaving cr, so if you want to skip the first meet dance, then just lmk and we can work out the finer details. he is crau'd, so he might even recognize people (or names) from his previous game.

there are plenty of opportunities to run into him. typically, he can be found at local doughnut shops, buying coffee or going on late night/early morning runs. his r.t. node (aka shiny nightlight in his chest) is hidden away, but he is currently wearing a pair of black gloves 24/7. feel free to comment or ask him questions about it. other potential opportunities for cr are as follows:

▪ superheroing!!! he will still be doing the iron man thing.
▪ inadvertent mom-ing. he is bound to accidentally adopt some smols.
▪ bad life decisions/random hookups. he'll be making those sooner or later.
▪ volunteers/employees for his business ventures once i get them worked out and mod approved.

i welcome any and all types of cr: positive, negative, complicated, awkward, silly, etc. a keen interest of mine is to develop a small but reliable network of friends for him overtime. he definitely needs supportive people who have especially high tolerance for shitty behavior right now because that... might come into play eventually. but until then, he is available for shenanigans.

Harry may be largely a playboy, but I'd like to think he does have SOME business knowhow, or at least picked some up during his time as CEO of Oscorp.

TLDR I'd love for Harry to invest in Tony's business(es) in some way. You know... Once he gets enough capital to invest in anything.

Hello! I'm Churby and I play this local mutant genius. He's already been asked by Jean Grey (I suppose in the past because Tony's here now, damn that weird temporal rift throwing Tony into the future), to talk to Tony about his other world experiences, sorta compare notes.

I also bring with me some interesting awkward CR potential. David's from after a point in comics (though it was in an Ant Man comic) where he tried to get a job as head of security for Stark Industries and lost out to Scott Lang. He doesn't have any hard feeligns about that,but from his point in time he would have met Tony beyond the general influence Avengers always seem to have in the lives of Mutants.

anyway, i have read that ant man issue lmf. tony is definitely way before superior iron man took place, so he would have no actual knowledge of it. he has gotten used to people from 616 being generally ahead of him in the tl though. he doesn't have any real interest in pursuing future event topics, but i'm cool with working around whatever david's impression of him is.

he did ask jean to have josh and david contact him though! we can either handwave or inbox it if you want.

I apologise in advance for Peter being Like This at Tony. He's had a pretty rocky past few years! I'm down to keep going on the Confluence thread we have for a bit if you are or we can hop to something else, but either way I am really excited to play more with you :D
