APRIL'S OOC INTRO & PLOTTING POST

OOC INTRO & PLOTTING
HELLO, HEROES AND VILLAINS! Welcome to [community profile] metaheroes! We're absolutely delighted to have you here. This is both our OOC introduction and plotting for our arrival event! Please use the information below to guide your plotting as you settle in.

LITTLE LOVE, KANSAS —
This month appears to be a little different. Though all the signs of a confluence appear there is no sign of any new arrivals. The gathering waits with baited breath and then finds nothing of interest occurs. Lightning strikes a potato field and that appears to be that.

People in town begin to go missing the next day. Both the new arrivals and the missing people have been planted deep under the field by the confluence's newest creation: giant, sapient potatoes of surprising strength. These potatoes seem to function as a hive-mind. Some arrivals may have been planted too deeply and may have spent the last night in an underground cave system, unable to break through the cave due to the potato's roots. Characters can fall into this cave system during combat. The water down here is glowing and, if drank, will cause you to become temporarily bio-luminescent and empathic to plants. Down there they will be able to locate the source of these monsters.

You will need to fight or tame these potato monsters in order to get the town back to normal.

LODGINGS —
Once the Guardian Alliance arrives on the scene in Excelsior and controls the situation, characters will be provided with lodgings in the DIADEM HOTEL. Here, guests are offered the finest home away from home experience you could ever hope for. Their culinary staff are capable of cooking up everything from hotdogs to gourmet cuisine. The pool, lounge, and fitness rooms are all open 24/7. Given the continued influx of new guests, arrivals may find their rooms have been double-booked. Hopefully it's a room with two queen-sized beds instead of a king!

Characters are also free to roam CENTRAL CITY and get their bearings, though at the moment, with the guilds distracted and the city doing major repairs following the damage by the Confluence, there is plenty of crime to stop or cause. Characters will be given cell phones with three months of pre-paid unlimited data and assistance with setting up social media accounts on the guild networks, as well as credit cards to help them start a life here.

Player characters will be offered the chance to join the guilds. Those who join will be offered housing at one of the four major cities, with each one offering a different living experience. Characters have two months to decide if they want to throw in with one of the guilds and enjoy the perks of membership, or deal with making their own way in the world without their support.

BUD THE SPUD —
Finally, in the aftermath of all of this, Little Love will require some ongoing assistance with pruning its new monsterous plant population. The older of these beasts seem amenable to being taken in and given a home. The younger ones keep trying to kidnap and plant people. The town seems surprisingly okay with this new breed of potato and some comment that it's the tenderest potato they've ever eaten.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU —

Player Name & Pronouns: Kat | she/her
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] purkle

Character Name & Journal: Cassandra Cain-Wayne (this one)
Guild Affiliation: Cass isn't going to be looking to join anyone until she sees what's going on...and talks to the family
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Cass is coming from a place where she's just getting fully back with the family. Belonging has always been a big part of her needs. She's also coming off a time where she was manipulated and drugged and the head of the League of Assassins, so there was killing and death.
Because DC sucks.

Plot/CR Hooks: Need someone kind of easy to manipulate? Someone to explain why we don't kill others? I don't know...let's just throw things at each other and see what happens.

Player Name & Pronouns: Effy (she/her)
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] mollymauktealeaf | Discord: foggytealeafs#7641

Character Name & Journal: Aloy ([personal profile] tosavethisworld)
Guild Affiliation: she could really go either way! I'm leaning towards her becoming unaligned, but if the Alliance can sell a competitive aspect to her like the Hunting Lodge in Meridian did via the Hunting Trials then she might consider their offer.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: well, Aloy currently is fresh off the events of her first game, so at the moment she's still trying to come to grips with everything that's happened to her and everything she's learned. ICly she will be wanting to learn as much as she can about the world around her in the hopes that maybe she can use it to fix the world she's from, but OOCly I want her to make more friends and learn she can't always do everything on her own—her upbringing as an outcast means she's very self-sufficient, but to a point where she's not super great with friendships and indeed doesn't entirely know what to do with people who actually like hanging out with her.
Plot/CR Hooks: Aloy is an open-world adventure game heroine. this means she will stick her nose into any business if it interests her enough, and if she spots something interesting she'll likely at least try to get closer to get a good look at it, even if it means a hell of a lot of climbing. other explorer-types are appreciated! also, people who are willing to teach her about the modern day—while she is from far in the future, it's a post-apocalyptic future, so she hasn't got the best grip on how things work in 2021. she's something of a tech whiz despite all that, so engineers and other tech-minded people are highly appreciated, she'd love to learn from them! (the only other person who knew tech in her world was Sylens, and uh. they have a more antagonistic relationship than anything, so.)

also people she can get into friendly competitions with. she is a sucker for friendly competitions.

Kate Bishop | Marvel Comics

[personal profile] fledges 2022-04-30 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name & Pronouns: Jenny (she/her)
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] cephalopods or cephalopods#5148 on discord

Character Name & Journal: Kate Bishop | [personal profile] fledges
Guild Affiliation: she'll likely join the guardian alliance, but will need a bit of convincing to fully trust them!
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:
- kate's a crau from meadowlark, so she's coming straight from there. that means she'll be a little disoriented and behind her castmates in terms of canonpoint, so she'll have a lot of catching up to do.
- her initial goals will mostly be to touch base with her friends and get the lay of the land. after that, she'll probably fall into her usual superhero schtick.
- she'll be starting a business with billy and living with tony and damian, most likely!
- eventually i'd love for her overconfidence and intensity to get her into trouble somehow, but i don't have solid plans there.

Plot/CR Hooks:
- kate is very type a, nosy as hell, and doesn't usually keep her opinions to herself. that means she's really easy to throw into things, whether that be for positive or negative cr.
- she tends to be very chatty, very social, and very sarcastic/playful. she has a sincere side, too, and can be brutally honest, so if you want someone for your character to get drunk with or someone to scold some sense into them, she's your girl.
- in canon, kate's a pretty established superhero! she's not as experienced as the big hitters like cap or iron man, but she's been working for a few years and generally knows the ropes.
- she's mostly a street level superhero, i.e. she doesn't have any powers or magic. she relies solely on her skill as an archer, but she has done some multiverse hopping with her team, so she has experience there.
- she comes from a rich girl background with a dad who is basically a supervillain at this point, so uh, that could be fun to play with??? who knows
- since kate's a crau, she might recognize some characters. atm this will probably mostly apply to batfam characters because of her cr with damian, so if you want to skip this, just let me know! and on the other end, if you'd like to play with that at all, also let me know!

Player Name & Pronouns: Marie (she/her; they/them is accepted)
Preferred Communication: Tim Drake [personal profile] mostdangerousbird
[plurk.com profile] seemarierun

Character Name & Journal: Tim(othy Jackson) Drake(-Wayne) [personal profile] mostdangerousbird
Guild Affiliation: Tim will be taking notes on all three options, reading up on them, and he'll also be noting where his friends and family fall. He'll drag his feet on the official decision and likely be unaffiliated, unless something significantly changes.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Flagrantly stealing from my app here:
I usually don't come into a game with a pre-conceived arc fully fleshed out. I'm looking forward to having him meet the characters from non-DC universes, as they get to have less rigid perspectives on good and evil.

Tim's coming from a timeline where the multiverse/omniverse is an established thing that he is very sick of dealing with. There will be some rock-kicking and "why didn't I pack my multiverse map, oh that's right, I'm an idiot."

That being said, I have very half-baked plans of making Batcoin a thing in game if at all possible, and would like to see Tim become involved with a team of unaffiliated teen or young adult heroes from across the multiverse. Also have a plan to find him the shittiest apartment ever in a former love motel converted into studio apartments. Furnished.

Plot/CR Hooks: Once he gets acclimated and realizes that this is not going to be a quick trip into another universe (and the months-long presence of Bruce and Bart will do that), he'll settle in Central City and start poking around, both as Tim and as Robin. Tim is curious detective at best (or a nosy, invasive, creepy little stalker who is absolutely not above casual breaking and entering for intelligence gathering) and will definitely being getting up in everyone's business from a distance, and running around going after non-meta crime at night.

He'll also be possibly joining one of Frances' support groups if he can find one that's not billed as a support group. He'll call it networking.

Other than that, he's a boring, nice kid and will probably try to be everybody's lil buddy as Tim.
batricide: (pic#13095520)

[personal profile] batricide 2022-04-30 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name & Pronouns: shikki they/them
Preferred Communication: minimoffs @ plurk

Character Name & Journal: damian wayne (injustice) [personal profile] batricide
Guild Affiliation: Damian is probably going to sign up with the Guardian Alliance the moment he gets there, become disgusted at the very notion of the guild system and how buddy-buddy they are, and split off.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:

HE... DOESN'T KNOW ANYMORE?

Damian caught in the midst of the world's shittiest custody battle between his biological father and his chosen father, serving as Superman's right hand and surrogate son. And he's... maybe... starting to catch on to the fact that he's been on the wrong side of things. But he's his father's son and stubbornness and fear drive him more than he'll ever admit.

Damian's stance on super-criminals is that they need to be put somewhere they can't hurt anyone else. This doesn't always mean killing them. If he can secure them somewhere they won't escape and kill again, he'll do that. If he can't then he views it as the only recourse that guarantees no more innocent people will die.

Being here will be a nice change of pace for him but any relief he feels will be washed away by the subtle but persistent anxiety that someone is going to come in and destroy it.

Plot/CR Hooks: Damian's the genetic son of Batman so he has all the skills of Batman. He also has slightly better social skills.

He spent about a year and change in Meadowlark which has further improved his capacity to be a person when around other people. He's got a budding desire to take charge and be a leader, not be puppeted by the people around him. He's also got chronic daddy issues and won't hesitate to jump in and agree that his father is an asshole.

If you need a tech guy / a field medic / someone to train you in how to do this superhero thing and not get killed - he's the only Robin in his world who hasn't died so he's probably your guy!

Also if you want someone to argue with you over the morality of murder THIS IS YOUR DUDE. I'd love for him to really REALLY get into it with someone, cede their point, and then immediately get grievously wounded by the villain in question.

His powers are also super built for CR and player plots. AND HE HAS A ROBOT ARM???

BLUE GOD POWERS. Damian's rage sets him on fire. This power isn't exceptionally powerful or potent. The best he can do is channel it into a fist - it's more of a hindrance than a benefit, he usually ends up catching himself on fire.

He also possesses an empathy bond that will activate should he come into contact with someone else who was given this blessing. This power may expand out in the future.

A SPARK OF MAGIC. attribute will manifest in the ability for Damian to learn magic. I'd like to make this a CR focused ability - if Damian has deep CR with your character, he'll automatically be granted a spell based upon the relationship. This power will be quite limited in scope and so no power will be particularly grand. At best, he might be able to teleport directly to that person, conjure a small rainstorm, etc. Small things meant to solidify the connection rather than anything that could change the flow of battle.

It will also focus heavily on cross-canon CR. Meaning that he will not gain any abilities from anyone he's bonded with in canon or from the extended DC Universe, only from other universes. His own power is a limited transformation based upon how he feels about himself. Which is that he's a poor imitation of his father. What this means is he can summon a pair of bat wings.

As his opinion of himself changes, this might revert to a pair of drab Robin wings for when he's feeling lost, or a set of enormous raven wings for when he feels particularly secure as Nightwing.

LAZARUS BLOOD. Damian will find that when he bleeds, he bleeds green, glowing lazarus water. Damian's blood will also possess the healing benefits of a pit - and those same drastic side-effects. The blood cannot heal internal injuries as it has to be applied directly onto the injury. Blood for blood, the cost of his family's magic. Your mind in exchange for a life long-lived.

The nearer to death you are when you're exposed to his blood, the more likely it is that you'll succumb to a form of Pit Madness. This effect can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Anyone who takes on this effect will be disoriented, impulsive, and prone to sudden outbursts of aggression.

Please let me know before you add me on plurk. I get weird friend requests and tend to ignore if I'm not expecting one.

Character Name & Journal: Duke Thomas (Batman: Wayne Family Adventures) | [personal profile] lightmyself
Guild Affiliation: He could potentially be swayed to join the Alliance if he gets enough of a Justice League vibe, but he's also really not into the whole Government Runs Things deal. So it's a toss up.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:
Duke is motivated by helping others and stepping in where he thinks the government fails to protect the most marginalized and at risk. In game, his goals will be finding where he fits in, possibly having to revise his idea as the Daytime Hero, and figuring out what is going on with the mess that is all of these people who are-but-aren't his family. OOC, I am very much interested in putting Duke through the ringer for the sake of drawing out the more stubborn and even defiant sides of him that are lessened in his canon because he's more concerned with being accepted by his new family and doesn't want to rock the boat too much.

Plot/CR Hooks:
-- Duke is a Bat (the only natural metahuman of the bunch) who works in the daytime, so of course he's a weirdo.
-- He's potentially going to school, but that might involve too much government involvement for him.
-- As far as him helping in other plots, he can be earnest and really does want to help and be part of something bigger than himself. He is good support and will back someone up or can be dragged into crazy plots/plans even if he didn't intend it to happen.
-- Would love to take advantage of Duke's abilities and his lack of control in them to keep working on that to have some fun.
-- One of his abilities is temporary power amplification that activates randomly and maybe this could lead to a potential player plot I will be putting more thought into.
-- Duke is often the "normal, sane" one in a group until people realize just how he's crazy in a different way and that could be fun to play around with if put with characters that come across crazier at first look.
-- PHOTOKINETIC POWERS. They could definitely come in handy being stuck in the dark caves? His powers include absorbing darkness to make the surrounding area lighter/bright and emitting energy himself like a flashlight.

Player Name & Pronouns: Maggie, She/her
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] roseburst! Please feel free to add me if you like.

Character Name & Journal: Izuku Midoriya / [personal profile] defendure
Guild Affiliation: Honestly, Izuku is friendly and doesn't mind working with others so he's not strictly opposed to affiliation - but he's a giant nerd so he'll want to research all the options and think about it. Probably also more likely to be swayed by where people he knows fall, if they fall anywhere, but he's basically willing to hear anyone out and add it to his mental lexicon as he considers things.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: I tend to play loose and fast with game plans to allow myself flexibility - I love doing plotting posts for specific events and tagging around those, but overall game arcs I tend to allow to form as I go, though I come up with goals as I play in games and get the feel of them. Izuku loves Quirks (meta abilities) and can chat about them endlessly, taking a million notes - he's also just very friendly in general. He's very curious and loves to learn, so he's good at chasing down plot lines and being involved, and I just want him to go out there and make friends and learn about new powers and give people ideas on creative and dumb ways to use those powers!! He doesn't mind losing in fights although he always tries to win - he's very graceful as a loser and loves to better himself endlessly, so I think he'll just be a very positive and active person overall. Meeting so many other superheroes will have him over the moon, too. He can fanboy all of them. Every single one. Even though they're not superheroes in his own world? Also, he will...probably be tracking down any and all comics he can read for whatever exists in this world, because he's a nerd and he has needs.
Plot/CR Hooks:
- Izuku's very, very nerdy and loves to take notes and research things and generally chat with people about powers. Since everyone pretty much has powers, he's? Going to have a grand old time? So he's willing to talk to anyone and geek out about what they can do. He'll also just be fascinated by other worlds and the like. He's very chatty and excited about everything.
- He actually started out in his own world as powerless! So he's happy to help anyone who is getting used to new powers with ideas for training plans or ways to utilize things, if they like? But also he just would be happy to find people to train with and such, he absolutely is cool with losing fights etc he just likes to learn and better himself and do his best. He's pretty easy to get along with.
- In terms of "extra" powers, I gave him a healing power that allows him to heal by taking on other people's pain, so that could be fun to play with (he's...self-sacrificial and needs to be watched closely), and a second one I picked was touch-empathy, but it needs skin to skin contact and ofc will only be used with permission!
- Surely someone in game will watch whatever tv shows exist about nerdy hero shit and also read comics with him. Surely. Let's be nerds together, maybe.
- I am generally willing to throw myself at anyone and figure out a reason to interact if people like, so hit me with anything!

Player Name & Pronouns: Pinky (she/her)
Preferred Communication: Plurk ([plurk.com profile] angriestbird) or on Discord (Pinky#1275)

Character Name & Journal: Jason Todd ([personal profile] robintohood)
Guild Affiliation: Jason will most likely stay unaffiliated as he doesn't trust either guilds and isn't a fan of their rules, particularly the "no killing" rule.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:

- Jason's IC long-term goal will be to find a way back to his Gotham. So he'll want to investigate and learn what he can about this alternate Earth.
- Until then, Jason will also see the new setting as an opportunity to refine his approach as a crime lord/vigilante. Until he finds a way back to Gotham, Jason thinks he might as well also try to help ordinary citizens.
- One of Jason's confluence-provided powers is the ability to summon dual swords. He'll absolutely want to learn how to be an efficient fighter with them.
- I would like Jason to go through development that shifts him from villain/violent antihero to a slightly less violent antihero. DC has never explained how the hell the shift happened so fuck it. RP-ing it.

Plot/CR Hooks:
- Jason is post-Under the Red Hood movie which means he's still a villain/violent antihero who believes in "an eye for an eye" and that the ends justifies the means.
- He works best with street-level/city crimes.
- He'll most likely set up base in Central City because it's a lot like Gotham.
- Although one of my long-term goals is to shift him into a less villainous character, I'm totally down with playing him as a villain and clashing with other characters.
- Besides getting to know this weird alternate Earth he's now in, he'll likely want to try to aggressively take down or take over chucks of the criminal underworld.
- Like I mentioned before, Jason will want to learn how to use dual swords properly.
- Jason's swimming in Denial about just how traumatized he is. He thinks the way he's handling things is Just Fine. Clearly, it's not. Most likely it'll take a long while but it'll be great if whatever CR he makes gets him to reconsider some things?
- Outside of being the Red Hood, Jason's more of an introvert and will want to keep people at arm's length, or at least at first. Once he gets talking though, he's a great snarker. Although he's no longer an idealistic happy Robin, he's still capable of caring about people and will be protective of his friends once he's comfortable and trusts them enough.

Preferred Communication: Pick one - PM this journal, [plurk.com profile] artoni, or discord@artoni#1824!

Character Name & Journal: Grease Monkey/Gyu-hui Mae; [personal profile] buildallthethings
Guild Affiliation: None! Though GM did grow up in this world, as a Native OC, xey're familiar with such; still, xey don't consider xemselves anywhere near the level of needing membership, aside from personal reasons.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:
  • So GM is on a Quest to Discover The Truth about xeir father's murder. By running away from home. And masquerading as a meta. We are not going to excuse any of this child's decisions, but xey are very prone to impulse and, uh, not making the best decisions at the time. (Or maybe galaxy brain decisions, who's to tell at this point.)
  • OOCly I'd like them to get some kind of mentor figure, whether said figure is enabling this gremlin or attempting to reign them in. Xey are sorely in need of an authority xey respect, and/or one xey can go to for advice.
  • Also OOCly I'm going to be working with the mods on the whole dad-plot-thing, and am 100% down for others to get involved! It's not something xey will immediately open up about, but xey might or might not be trying to build a small group xey can try and manipulate use work with to accomplish xeir goals. Teen Squad Force, GO!

Plot/CR Hooks: GM works in a mechanics shop called Fix-It All-Tow in Central City and if the place got robbed xey would murder everyo-I MEAN.
  • For real, if you require a mechanic shop in the Central City area for any scenes or whatever, feel free to use/reference/whatever it.
  • GM isn't...quite a vigilante, quite a superhero, or a supervillain. In the end xey're a kid with a very high opinion of themselves reacting to a Situation by embracing the fantastical, one way or another. What is that Situation?...suffice it to say that Gyu-hui Mae is a known missing person, specifically the 'kidnapped' child of a medtechcorp's CEO. People investigating said missing child are free to give me a poke!
  • Day to day though xey just kind of work in the shop, night to night xey test gadgets. And possibly get in to trouble. I am 100% open to someone A) getting GM in to trouble B) getting GM OUT of trouble C) laughing at GM already in trouble.
  • Also xey're absolutely a fankid, so if you're at all interested in someone going after you squealing about how cool X or Y was, that is a thing that can happen.

GM can also be...a lot, as an excitable teenager, so if you want/need me to tone things down just let me know.

Player Name & Pronouns: Mel (she/her)
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] harlequeen

Character Name & Journal: Harley Quinn | [personal profile] sequinns
Guild Affiliation: Unaffiliated. She has a complicated relationship with teams.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Harley’s here for trouble and a good time. I’d say not necessarily in that order but… it’s definitely in that order. She thrives on chaos so she’s less likely to be worried about joining a guild and more interested in figuring about these nifty new powers she has (which, speaking of, if you recognize them from another game it’s not plagiarism… I played a comic Harley there and lifted those powers because they were fun to play with!)

I’d definitely love any and all CR, both positive and negative? Though I also understand that there are a lot of characters here who won’t trust her right off the bat (and with good reason!)

Though she probably won’t actively be looking at guilds at first, joining one isn’t completely off the table… it’ll probably just depend on whether she ends up thinking it’ll be beneficial enough to her to do so.

Plot/CR Hooks: Definitely an antagonist. But the best thing about Harls is that it’s pretty easy to explain away why she’s in… pretty much any situation because so little of what she does makes sense 😂 If there’s any characters who’d be interested in roller derby let’s chat! Or anyone who’d be into a throw down (she’s got some new super strength she’d love to have fun with).

She’s also got Bruce the hyena with her for plenty of hijinks and nonsense! And, lbr, any scenario where she could be minding her own business/looking out for her own best interests and then accidentally end up being heroic would be fabulous!

Player Name & Pronouns: Allen | he/him
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] radioactivearachnid

Character Name & Journal: Terry McGinnis | [personal profile] knight_shift
Guild Affiliation:

He's very specifically going to avoid joining either of the Guilds. Every Bat has some trust issues, and Terry isn't any different. He didn't even join the Justice League. He's definitely not going to join some organization he's never heard of, especially when it's raising some pretty sizeable red flags.

Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Terry's going to be working with the rest of the Batfamily, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn from the others. He never really got that chance in his timeline. He's also going to try to clean up Central City.

He might be starting up some kind of chauffeur service to pay his bills since he's not joining a guild

Plot/CR Hooks:

Vigilantism in Central City because he's still Batman, even in another universe.

He's got a dog.

He's also going to be poking at Bruce by claiming the internet handle "batman" before Bruce can.
curar: (004)

[personal profile] curar 2022-05-01 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name & Pronouns: Brandi (she/her)
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] trashpanda

Character Name & Journal: Laura Howlett @[personal profile] curar
Guild Affiliation: Laura is eleven and wants to be a good hero to honor her father because she knows it's what he'd want for her. However, she's a feral eleven year old and is probably easily swayed one way or another. Right now, I have plans for her to eventually affiliate with the heroes but who knows what will happen once she ends up meeting people and developing CR. She could just as easily end up unaffiliated, simply due to the fact she's reluctant to trust adults.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Laura primarily just wants to survive and exist without being experimented on and hunted. She also desperately wants to get the other x-generation children to Eden. But she's here now, and will make the most out of that. I'd like to get her involved in doing some normal people things like:
- making friends
- finding mentors
- going to school for the first time ever
- eventually doing the whole found family thing
- beating up adults that annoy her
- learning how to read and write
- having the best horse & unicorn collection in the entire world most important goal here
Plot/CR Hooks: Laura is curious and is prone to roaming/exploring. She can literally be anywhere and everywhere. While she is eleven, she looks younger and acts like a feral honey badger. She's pretty independent and capable for an eleven year old, but she still needs to be taught a lot about social standards and how to exist in among other people. Being created and raised in a lab as a weapon has made it pretty difficult for her to assimilate easily. She's a character I prefer to play in the moment and see where things go, though I never object to planning out more simple interactions! But I do know I'm going to have her fighting potatoes since it would be a shame not to put her claws to good use. I'd prefer to not have her double booked with an adult at the Diadem Hotel, but if there are any teens or other kids that would want a roomie for a while, I'd love that! Otherwise, I imagine she'll wind up with npc guardians until she finds some CR icly that will put up with her that she can crash with.

Guild Affiliation: He is not easily swayed and will determine what he wants to do / stand by, but he will also more likely be convinced by what his castmates defer to. But like, please feel free to try.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Canonically Bakugou has recently gone through a good chunk of development that has made him more willing to Try and be a better version of himself. He's still emotionally stunted AF and incredibly rude, brash, proud, and will absolutely come off like he's already sick of your character before even knowing them!! But don't let that put you off. He's ...an aquired taste. I, however, am all for throwing him at anyone and everyone.

Currently, he will be interested in:

- Finding a mentor-type figure.
- Getting back to his usual means of training / finding training partners.
- Adjusting to the new world and quietly studying up on it.
- Will definitely be beating the hell out of some potatoes.

Plot/CR Hooks: Bakugou is invested in becoming a pro-hero in his own world so he actually will stop and help anyone in need. He might not be the hero you want, but he's the hero you need - or something. He's not like,,,the most comforting guy to save someone,,,but he'll absolutely get the job done! He is hyperaware of other people and if anyone gives him villain-type vibes, he'll just call them sketchy to their face.

I'm very open and comfortable with antagonistic relationships and working towards more positive or negative places. Bakugou doesn't really do "nice" but he can take up the role of leader or partake in team missions surprisingly well - if you can tolerate the yelling and swearing anyway. Even though he is a hero-type, he definitely is easy to make enemies with even if you're another hero.

Spock | Star Trek (Discovery era)

[personal profile] intermingled 2022-05-02 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name & Pronouns: Lauren, She/her
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] blauren or kobrakidding#0888

Character Name & Journal: Spock [personal profile] intermingled
Guild Affiliation: Spock will want to learn about the world here before committing himself completely, but his morals line up very well with the Guardian Alliance.
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Spock would very much like to find a place where he belongs, having spent most of his life feeling torn between his parents' two cultures and fitting in in neither. He does not allow himself to admit that he wants these things, but he has admitted how painful it is to hide so much of himself all the time once or twice. Given a new environment, Spock will immediately be looking to understand the world around him and find a place where he can at least do good by his own moral standards. Having just been given heartfelt advice to reach out to people instead of further isolating himself, he will also give it his best fumbling attempt to make connections with other people. Longterm, I would like him to succeed in making connections and finding a place, but for him to have to work for it all.

Plot/CR Hooks: Spock believes very strongly in helping people and working for the betterment of the many over the few. He also really loves science and any opportunity to combine these will make him about as happy as a Vulcan will allow themselves to be. He will easily offer scientific assistance to any heroes who might need support and though he does not have his Starfleet or Vulcan technology, he does have an eidetic memory and has a wealth of scientific knowledge within his own mind. He is not particularly tactful or kind in his approach to people, but he is also not intentionally cruel (most of the time) and can be trusted to be honest, even if he is also likely to sometimes be withholding. Though he is very confident in himself and his skills and knowledge, he is a little brother who has just lost his big sister and if given an opportunity to fill a little brother role, he might be inclined to lean into it if someone were to remind him of Michael. He is also very early in his long life and long career (this is pre-The Original Series by a few years) and not as likely to take command of a situation unless he sees a vacuum of leadership. He's not used to not having orders at this point.

tldr: Does your character need a salty space elf science nerd sidekick who will talk back?

Kon-El/Superboy | DC Comics

[personal profile] lowercase_el 2022-05-03 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name & Pronouns: Korel | ey/em/eir
Preferred Communication: Plurk | [plurk.com profile] korel

Character Name & Journal: Kon-El/Conner Kent/Superboy | [personal profile] lowercase_el
Guild Affiliation: Probably going to wind up unaffiliated because his response to "go be a superhero on an officially sanctioned superhero team" is going to be "sure!" right up until he knows it's a law, and then he'll flip to "don't tell me what to do"
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals: Kon's a go with the flow kinda guy. His long-term goal will be to get home; his short-term goal will be to help everyone get home in one piece, and make sure that when they leave, the world they're in is no more banged up than it was when they arrived.

Character-wise, Kon's sort of adjusting to being someone that bypassed all the reboots back home, and left Earth to come back and find it changed. Even though the heroes all remember the past timelines now, it's still an adjustment. Being stuck in yet another different dimension will be another. He's struggling to get his feet under him again.

Along the way I'd like to have him poke and prod a little at the history of clones in the game world, and plan for him to live that unaffiliated lyfe. He won't have a deep distrust of authority here, but just enough he'll worry about how all the other unaffiliated metas that just want to keep their heads down are doing.
Plot/CR Hooks: Kon pack bonds pretty quickly so all it'll take for him to want to help other people out with whatever they've got going on is just liking them a little bit. He'll also be quick to grab people and drag them into something bad he sees going on.

He's reliable in a fight, trustworthy, and while his powers are dialed down a little, he still has a small grab bag of them and is pretty powerful. He's especially good at manipulating complex components with his teke. While he'd never do it for the sake of stealing if the good guys have to get into some impossible to open safe without blowing it up, he'd make a hell of a safecracker.

Player Name & Pronouns: Korel | ey/em/eir
Preferred Communication: [plurk.com profile] korel

Character Name & Journal: The Joker | [personal profile] thelastlaugh
Guild Affiliation: Extremely unaffiliated
Character Motivations & IC/OOC Goals:
Mostly just introducing myself rather than doing a full cr building post.

The Joker won't be played like a normal day to day character. I plan on having him cause periodic problems, ending in his usual faked deaths or captures, until his final defeat, whatever form that takes.

I'll be periodically testing the waters to see when people would like a joker plot and submitting player plots to the mods for approval. I plan on running them in a way where clues and puzzles and figuring out his plans will be left to players oocly to puzzle out. (If people hit a wall I'll give some hints, but I'd like to let people enjoy a little ooc mystery).

I have an opt out. But in general, so people can avoid them, all of his plots will be aggressively opt in or have very easy to explain opt outs.

And just so people have a heads up on tone but while he's absolutely awful, I'm not a fan of like "feeds batfamily what they think are their own faces" awful. He's an edgy dickhead but we're gonna dial it down a few pegs to, y'know, gas attacks, trying to torture Robins, and killing people because they won't let him copyright the world's fish.
